I liked that the property was right next to Kensington park and close to the underground and buses. Not enough restaurants in the area and maybe some more upscale shopping

We arrived at the Royal Garden Hotel 3 hours before check-in time and staff offered to see if a room was already available. We had booked a deluxe twin room not the garden view option with views over Hyde Park. However when entering the room we were pleasantly surprised to see views across a flat roof to Kensington Palace Gardens. The room had been refurbished and was of an excellent standard with modern furniture. The beds were incredibly comfortable and windows had curtains with block out linings. We were delighted to have a bathroom with a separate shower as well as a bath. The bathroom was immaculate and had also been completely refurbished. The quality and choice of food at breakfast was amazing. The only criticism I have is someone was using a drill in a room above ours at about 9:15 in the morning.

Most of the rooms are too small, some have no shower only a bath which limits the usage for the dissable. The larger rooms are very nice and comfortable. If you wish a better room state your request in advance as the standard room is not good enough.

Fantastic location next to Kensington Garden/Palace. Wonderful walk thru Notting Hill to Portobello Market. Great shopping nearby. Hotel was an oasis of peace, luxury room, wonderful view. Would absolutely recommend.

The generous room upgrade afforded us a view overlooking Kensington Palace and Hyde Park. The staff was very professional and accommodated our requests for some additional services. Breakfast offered numerous choices and was presented in a natural fashion that made it seem like a great market we stumbled upon for a meal.

We are regular visitors to this hotel. The location is excellent, the rooms are relatively spacious. Service is generally good, though some staff are excellent. The hotel represents very good value for money in a city of over-priced hotels.
