Turndown or explain!

Good speedy check-in. Lovely room….however We arrived at night so they either need to explain that you need to shut all the black-out curtains (including the ones around the bathroom) or they need to do a turndown service. It was only when I showered in the morning I realise ld there were other curtains to shut - annoying. Had a couple of drinks in the V bright bar. Service was ok - not great. Probably wouldn’t stay there again to be honest.

The hotel is at the bottom end of the 5 star bracket Not very nice rooms, they seem to have spend all the money on the lobby and left the rooms with little thought. Breakfast expensive and not very good. We did get a room upgrade upon pushing the topic at reception due to my Expedia platinum although the upgrade was hardly noticeable. The hallways are dark and loud and not inviting. The building itself had seen better days.

Great hotel and position I think it’s over priced as the rooms are a little tired or the ones I have stayed in, Also we were entitled to a free upgrade if there was one available , there’s wasn’t one available but when the music in the bar area was too loud at midnight we complained and they upgraded us! Makes you think they don’t really want to upgrade you I have stayed here quiet a few times and there sister hotel near Covent Garden ,think I will try somewhere else next time… Sorry !!
