Absolutely brilliant customer service, very friendly at reception. Room was small but perfect for a short stay. Lots of stairs to the 4th floor but a young whippersnapper like me was up them in seconds!
The hotel room is so small that it is only the bed area. There was blaring music playing in the neighbourhood. The bathroom size was terribly small. I wasnt feeling well and asked for a thermometer, which they didnt even have in their medical kit. Overall not happy for their service and property. And i paid GBP185 for it.
Enjoyed our time at St David's -- a charming property in a historic building. Read in fine print after we checked in that there's no lift (elevator) -- we had the luck of being on the very top floor so five flights of stairs was quite the workout. The room was small but well decorated and appointed. Beds were comfortable and linens were lovely. Staff were super friendly. Only complaint is that our room was HOT -- we kept radiator off and window open all night (in December!) to be comfortable enough to sleep. A fan would've been appreciated.
The person at the front desk the night I checked in was rude and unhelpful. It’s a multiple story walk up and the only bathroom was on the 2nd floor landing. I was two flights up and had to go down to a tiny closet like bathroom to use the toilet.
The girl at the desk this morning was good. I can’t get over the rudeness of the man last night. Everything was uncomfortable. The room itself was five feet across. It was nothing but a closet. The pictures are false advertisement. Don’t stay here.
AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
Where do I start?
Being woken up at 1am as the night manager watched something on tablet a full volume
Then a big arguement I could hear through the walls followed by a party until 4am, this may well be from adjoining properties but the hotel night manager made no effort to help or call a noise complaint
Soundproof the room perhaps?
Then, once the underground trains started the entire room literally shook every 5mins with added noise of the trains passing
Then they start hoovering at 9am right outside the room, before check out time as well as banging the door right outside my room
Ive never stayed in such a noist festering pit as this, god knows where the good reviews come from, probably friends and family
The manager made no attempt to rectify or even apologise.
AVOID THIS DUMP LIKE THE PLAGUE
We chose this place for price, and location. Yes it’s small, but it’s London. That’s no issue. Service was polite. However, because the building is very old, it has quite the rodent problem. Mice were coming into our room at night and eating what they could in our baggage. Not good. Also not sure that there’s much that could be done about it, as, again, it’s old.
It was the perfect little room for a one night stay. The location is phenomenal. Would not recommend for light sleepers as you can hear the trains go by.
This place is a must! Clean, safe, staff amazing! Also the location to Paddington station is great. 5 mins. Tons of restaurants around if you want anything to eat in or take out.

Place is so convenient and close to the train and bus station. Safe and nice area. So many restaurants and fast food options in this area. Small room but we’re out most of the time. Hot shower water is really good. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only problem is that the hotel doesn’t have a lift. So if you are having knee problems or traveling with older people request the lower floors. And it’s very very close to Paddington Station.
Lovely stay in a beautiful area of London. The location is amazing, only a step away from the station with key tube lines. Some great cafe and restaurants around as well. Would highly recommend this hotel for any stay in London !!!

Simple, basic accomodation in an excellent part of the city. Perfect if the plan is to spend as much time as possible around London. Great public transport close by. Comfortable enough overall
St. David hotel is very quaint, offering a very quality experience at a good price. It's a 2min walk to Paddington Station and I also found it easy to catch a black cab at the Hilton next to the station. Very quiet and safe area. I will always choose this over paying more to stay in the chaos of central London. St. David is not a good place for families and young children. Perfect for solo travelers, travelers with a friend (two twin beds were perfect for us) and for couples.
