Staff is bad. They have zero training how to represent a 5 star hotel. From the security outside demanding I park my car as far as it could be from the hotel enterance (btw no ballet either) to the guy on the front desk telling cutting me off while I’m asking him for direction telling me to wait here (while not even serving anyone else, just staring at his computer) Took the grand suite, room is basic at best. No chromecast, no Netflix, Amazon prime, nothing just a few channels.

Hi, nothing fundamentally wrong or disappointing. We had to chase a bar order and the staff then explained they’d been to look for the option we’d chosen, which wasn’t available so our drinks were complimentary, which was a nice gesture. N called housekeeping about needing a kettle and they said one would come. Called after 25 mins and same person explained coffee machine could be used for hot water to make tea. No instructions to explain this. Water then tasted of coffee. Kettle arrived soon after. We stayed as an overnighter before heading to Paris on Eurostar and having seen the hotel for many years, it didn’t meet expectations. Thought it would be a wow but missed the mark.

There was an incredibly pungent smell in the hallway on the floor we were staying in that was pretty overwhelming and during the night the air vent pushed out another weird but sweeter smell something like you’d see in a Vegas hotel or Disney when they pump “smells” into the air. We booked the hotel as we had dinner reservations at the Booking Office and Gothic Bar. About 2hrs before we arrived the Gothic Bar cancelled our reservation due to a private event and the food and service at the Booking Office was just terrible. The reason I’m sharing this is because you are cobranded with both establishments and it just looks really bad. I should not have had to leave the hotel to get a decent meal and a drink at another bar. Not what I was expecting from an establishment that’s considered a higher end property. I would love to chat with someone about this if there’s an opportunity. I’m not even sure who to talk to about the Booking Office experience and the substandard food and service - which included one of our party having to go to the bar to get a glass of water and wine as they forgot to come back after bringing us a drink menu. All of it was pretty disappointing.
