This hotel was a smaller hotel and allowed great personal service. The staff knew our names and situations and we knew their front desk staff person name, Sara, who was delightful. There’s no fridge but they held a little food in their fridge. The bathroom was as big as my home bathroom and included a full bath tub.

I had a great experience with the woman who checked me in on the morning of the 22nd, but that’s about it. The hotel itself was fine but the noise from other rooms was absurdly loud. I also received no help or offers of help from the multiple people working at the hotel that I passed on my way down 7 flights of stairs with three bags, one of them being a very heavy suitcase.

Room was dated but adequate. It’s the staff and location that make the Abbey a worthwhile consideration for a place to stay in London. Lots of shops in the area to peruse and many good dining options! The staff were extremely helpful whenever we needed their assistance!

Bed was incredibly lumpy, they added a mattress foam topper to try to help, but it needed serious replacement. Dips in the bed made sleep difficult. We actually had to reverse sides and sleep with heads at the foot of the bed, and even then struggled to sleep. Staff cleaned the wash closet outside our room at 4am, and due to the gap under our door we heard everything and it kept us up. Floor had debris and a wad of hair, we had to ask the front desk to vacuum the room properly. They require you to check in the key at the front desk (similar to Paris), and attach the key to a large wooden block so you don’t lose it, which we found demeaning. Overall this place has a lot of potential with great location and room layout, but the furnishing, bed and carpet are in dire need of replacement. Bathroom needed updating as well, and our conditioner bottle had not been checked for refilling. Would not return.

Quaint neighborhood. The hotel had many stairs, room was very small and creeky floors, no water pressure for shower. There was large paint chipping and cracks around the windows. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Friendly and comfortable in Notting Hill

Very friendly and helpful welcome from the staff, which continued to make us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and an excellent location to enjoy beautiful Notting Hill or jump on the Tube to explore London.

The TV wasn’t usable due to a loud noise when on and the shower was very difficult to set up the correct temperature. On the positive side, the staff were friendly, the room was clean and they had an umbrella to use as it was pouring. It was also good value for money to stay in this area for £86 for a double room.

The reception area is very well presented. Lady showed us to her room lovely and attentive. When we were shown to our room the lady explained the wifi code and any issues who to contact. When checking the room the radiator cover was a little caved in and unable to turn the radiator down and it was on constantly so required having the window open. Although it was a quiet area there were still alot of noises. The bath is a bit worse for wear and the cold tap only dribbles out water so in order to wash our hands or brush our teeth we required using the bath tap. I would recommend changing the tv and out this onto the dressing table as there was a lovely sofa in the room but pointless. Other than that a very nice area

Shockingly bad. The room was absolutely filthy (see photos). Stains on the furniture, stains on the bed, filthy dirty bathroom, stains on the walls. Clearly this wasn’t a “they forgot to clean the room”, this was just the quality of the hotel. The bathroom was in appalling condition. The bed was in appalling condition. The room was in appalling condition. There was a hotel room safe under the bathroom counter… that was not in working order. So there was nowhere to lock up valuables. Overall incredibly disappointing considering the cost of the stay. I’ve stayed in other hotels in London at a similar price and this was not a remotely comparable experience. The staff were friendly enough at the front desk, but when we checked out we weren’t asked how our stay was and I can only imagine the staff have stopped asking or prefer not to ask. Photos posted in Google review: - Stained furniture - Stained bed - Filthy dirty stained bathtub - Stained bathroom ceiling and wall (presumably from upstairs leaking toilet - fecal water stains!?) - Shower head not working (video) - TV not working (video) We were seriously considering leaving on the first day and booking in at a different hotel and just accepting that we would not get a refund. Would not recommend and will not return.

Great for the price!

We had a great stay here….our only issue was that there is no lift & we had a lot of luggage…but the reception staff were excellent & put us on the 2nd floor instead of the 3rd, as we were booked….she also helped us up with our luggage! Great area to access anywhere & very close to the underground! Lots of pubs in the area too!

The hotel was fab. PERFECT LOCATION right at Notting Hill Gate. Aaron and the rest of the staff was lovely. The room has great bathtubs and comfortable bedding. Great selection of teas as well. Bravo!
