Headline: Half a hotel
I booked it due to its location- I wanted to stay near the Southbank area, and the price, which over 5 nights avgd $167. I couldn’t address all of these issues with management or find another hotel because of the time it would take.
This place is not good, and travelers should know why.
Check-in: the man helping me couldn’t get the key program to work, so he took me to a room, then another floor up to a different room. I was tired from my flight so I went with it.
The room lacked drawers or a wardrobe, or hangers. There was no soap at all, no hand soap or anything. Finally got some on day three.
There were ongoing renovations on my floor and a nearby one, the stairwell smelled of cigarettes, there were paint spots on the floor, and dust in the hallways. It was impossible to relax in the room the few times I wanted a later start in the morning because one, the maid staff used the whole floor to store their supplies while they cleaned the rooms and two, you can hear the cleaning like it’s happening right in front of you and three, there were renovations happening at the time - lots of banging and drilling. I’ve stayed in hotels where this has happened before and it’s understandable, but they tell you the situation upfront.
The mattress was the hardest mattress I’ve ever slept on. Didn’t get good sleep.
For this money, I have stayed in nicer spots in London that feel fully functionally and not some strange half finished guest house.
Don’t book here.
