Terrible. Left the next morning even though we had booked for 3 nights. Air conditioning was dripping and growling all night. The place looks like it hasn’t been looked after for decades. The shower kept dripping all night. Horrible.

We were quite disappointed with our stay. The property is very outdated and in need of refurbishment. The breakfast was poor, with limited options and low quality. We paid for an upgraded room but were given a small, basic one instead. When we raised the issue with reception, they were dismissive and insisted it was the room we booked. To make matters worse, we used OneKey Cash points for this stay, which felt like a complete waste. Definitely not the experience we expected or paid for.

Mix of positives and areas for improvement

Our stay at The Lensbury Resort Hotel had a mix of positives and areas for improvement. Check-in was a bit disappointing. Although we arrived slightly early and understood our room might not be ready, we still had to wait until 3:20pm to access it—even after queuing again at 3pm. Unfortunately, there was no apology or communication about the delay, which felt impersonal. That said, the outdoor seating area where we waited was lovely, and the overall dining experience was excellent. The evening dinner menu offered a great selection, and the breakfast buffet was varied and enjoyable. All dining staff were polite and friendly, contributing positively to our stay. We stayed in a part of the hotel that is detached from the main building. This section felt a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. The room itself was basic but adequate. However, the bathroom cleanliness was below expectations—there was even a used bar of soap left in the corner. On a more positive note, the leisure facilities were impressive. The sauna and steam room were very good, the changing rooms were spacious and clean, and the gym was excellent. Overall, while there are clear strengths in dining and wellness amenities, some aspects of the accommodation and guest service could be improved to enhance the overall guest experience.

Lensbury Hotel

Checking in and out was lovely and smooth. we booked for 3 nights. Grounds and facilities was good. The room was lovely we did find the pillows and bed a little uncomfortable, could have done with a couple more pillows. Breakfast was good wide variety. Evening meal not so good the only meal we enjoyed was fish & chips, would have love to have had Sunday roast but unfortunately missed as was not aware only till a certain time. Would like to suggest using a stronger product to wash utensils and plates as they had a raw smell. All the staff were lovely and very professional made us feel very welcome. On the whole we wound stay at the Lensbury again.

This old hotel has a lovely location and attractive grounds. Our rooms were in need of renovation, paint, lighting and better bathrooms. It didn't feel at all like a luxury hotel. In addition, the staff wasn't helpful, in particular with a reservation problem we had. All in all I do not recommend!

Perfect mini break away

The stay was really comfortable for the two days we were there. We arrived as a family of 4 adults for my mums birthday. Booked a twin bed room. Decent room for a short stay, if anything longer possibly opt for the Deluxe. Bar staff / waiting servers were so lovely, really down to earth and helped with any queries i had. Booked the spa services, for my mum so i didnt get to experience the treatments but the staff in spa were 100%. Great energy and a lovely welcome. Lots of parking spaces available too.

Anniversary stay

Our 2nd visit to the lensbury, special requests asked for at time of booking, extra pillows, milks etc were not complied with , we had to ask for them and we had no bathrobes provided and had to chase. Dissapointing limeted lunch menu al a carte and bar snacks limited, we would have liked option to have sandwiches/pannini, we didnt want a full meal, and the evening al a carte was the same as lunch.
