No lift in hotel and all rooms upstairs

The hotel is quite old and tired. I’d read all the info yet somehow missed the fact there is no lift. I had to carry a 20kg bag up the stairs, as did the other people I saw checking in. I know it’s not the staff’s job, but they just stood and watched. The bar was ok, empty and just sorry playing very loudly on a huge tv. The single beds in the twin room were really comfy, nice firm mattress. Decent shower. Awful lighting in the room, no lamps or low light. £22 in a black cab from the terminal and another £8 for two pods the next day, so overall it’s not the bargain hotel it seems. Pods were easy to find as I looked on the hotels website. No info was given by staff nor did they ask “ do you know how to get there?”when they sell the ticket to you. Basic stuff really. It’s 5 mins across a car park so doesn’t take long. Wouldn’t stay again, would spend the extra to stay at the hotel at T5.

Thistle is in a good location, easy to get to from Terminal 5 and has several restaurants and a great little neighborhood pub within walking distance. The hallway carpet going down to the main floor rooms is terrible! Not only dirty, but in several places is ripped and a tripping hazard. One spot has duct tape on it, and another has nothing=very easy to catch a toe on trip and fall. It has been like this the last 3-4 times we have stayed there. The management should be embarrassed by this and concerned for the patrons' safety. Change this out please!!!

Thistle Hotel

Good hotel to stay at if you have an early flight from Terminal 5. Easy access via the POD transport system. 5 mins to the Hotel and Terminal building. Good food

The only airport hotel in the world with no lift. Good job it’s only 2 stories. Bathroom tiny. Toilet so close to wall it’s practically unusable. Check in slow.

Thistle Terminal 5 was the perfect location to spend a couple of days before flying home. The hotel was clean and comfortable, with extra amenities for just in case…think umbrella rental stands, uber kiosk and a board with clear directions on the different options to get to the airport. We used public transportation, and got to Terminal 5 in 5 minutes and paid less than £2. The additional cost for breakfast was well worth it, as we were fueled for our day trip. The convenient bus stop allowed us to explore the city very easily. There isn’t much to do in the exact area, but using the #81 bus we ventured to Hounslow a little area with lots of restaurants, mini groceries and the tube station. Would definitely stay there again.

Tired but convenient

Very Convenient for T5 with a 5 min transfer by driverless pod although there is a £8.50 per person per way charge. Rooms are tired and walls very thin. Staff really friendly and helpful.
