Reception area
The reception area, waiting room and lift not great but room was fresh and modern. Breakfast next door at The Cumberland was great. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Good location but when we went to check in for 3pm the rooms were not ready and we did not get to our room until 3 45pm. Rooms were very small. Heating not working and extractor fan not working in bathroom making bathroom very slippy due to condensation. Staff were very helpful though when we told them of issues with room. Very friendly. Hotel was in good location, clean but dated.
This was an incredibly poor stay. The stories we can tell are horrendous. We could not wait to leave this hotel and the nonesense they put us through. Horrible rooms, A/C didn't work, bathrooms were plugged, sink was broken and some of the worse customer service experienced. Believe the reviews, it is not a great place to stay except for the location.
The hotel had its ups and downs. While the room was spacious and comfortable, with an impeccable bathroom, the overall decor of the hotel from the front desk to the hallways and lobby was not aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, our room was located on an underground floor, making it extremely dark, with the windows facing a dark wall, limiting natural light.
However, the staff at the front desk were so friendly and accommodating that I didn’t feel the need to complain when the underground room was assigned.
For a hotel in Central London the service from the time at check in, no assistance at all, not even help with luggage. Staff at front desk were more interested with themselves & having their own personal chats. The first night room was to be 40% discounted, please confirm this. The 40% discount was authorized by Amal at reception. The next day we were moved to a better roomier room. The soaps & shampoo bottles were half used & only one bath towel in the family room. The Hotel is run like a third grade dormitory & certainly will not recommend, we left a day earlier. Hotel.com should not list this hotel
