It was OK. Road works made taxi access a problem. The hotel is hardly boutique, the top scale of shabby. In the lobby/bar area you can only access toilets by key from a member of staff. Makes you wonder…. Was told we had a room with walk in shower when we arrived too early too early to go to room. When we did go, after 11. It was definitely not. Had to miss shower as unable to leap in and out of bath. Wouldn’t choose again although it was convenient for the theatre.

Location excellent for central London. For Buckingham palace to all major attractions. All in walking distance plus tube station 2 minutes away. Clean tidy and staff very friendly. Also perfect location for theatre shows. Pubs cafe restaurant everywhere with in 1 minute walj

Not what we had booked and hugely disappointing.

I will also copy these comments directly to the hotel. I booked an overnight stay was with my fiancée, daughter and Mum to celebrate our engagement. We booked the Thistle Trafalgar Square and when we arrived for check-in we were told there was a burst pipe so we needed to move to the Trafalgar Piccadilly. I didn’t mind this change initially and we were offered a complimentary drink, which was very kind. Elizabeth on reception was very kind and apologetic, which we appreciated. We moved hotels and the difference was stark from the outset. There was no welcoming, bright reception area and no bar and restaurant facilities. Again, this was disappointing but not the end of the world. Originally we had adjoining rooms but were told in the new hotel that this wasn’t possible, again disappointing and not what we had booked. What made the problem worse was that we had booked tickets to see The Lion King and had planned to eat at the hotel restaurant in Thistle Trafalgar Square. With the change of hotel we decided to eat around the theatre and were extremely disappointed that we had to wait over 1 hour with most restaurants, meaning we did not eat prior to the show. Overall we were extremely disappointed with the change of hotel, I don’t know why we couldn’t just change rooms in our original hotel. The staff were great but the overall experience was hugely disappointing and now what we have originally booked.

Liked the room. Good wifi. Good breakfast. Restrooms on ground floor out of order for most of our stay and the option was to use the bathrooms at the Thistle hotel 3 minutes away (or go up to room). Necessary to navigate steps to on way to elevator. We arrived early in the morning and they had a hard time figuring out what rooms had been cleaned; we finally were able to get into our room mid/late afternoon.
