Clean but no air circulation

We stayed at the Inn at the Sea last summer and we were very happy with everything about it so that’s why we booked it again for this past weekend. Yes it was clean but it was so incredibly hot and humid in the room that made the stay super uncomfortable. We also received a room right by the stairs so it was very loud. I’m not sure what changed between last year and now but my family was miserable the entire time we were in the room. I recommend getting an air system for the rooms instead of providing fans that barely works to air out the room. I also had a staff member confront me about leaving my dog in the room while I got ice for 10 seconds. She said I couldn’t leave him unattended but my family was in the room. He just wanted to go with me because he was panting the entire time he was inside. At the end of the day there was one housekeeper that was super nice and made sure we had what we needed.

Great location. Grab and go breakfast is an excellent idea as I don't like to eat until 10:00 so I could grab something and eat later. Quiet except they allowed dogs and one dog barked every time I left my room or any time anyone walked by even at night. Though they don't want cats there, at least cats don't bark. Wish the ice would have been closer. Clean room that was spacious. Friendly, helpful staff. Could get a bike there. Overall, nice place for the price and would return because it was within walking distance to some great food and driving distance to a nice quiet beach where there were only a few people.

What sold us on this property was the interior pictures of the advertisement. However upon arrival we discovered the renovation was only skin deep. Bathroom lacked the fit and finish of what I would expect to pay for just over $300/night. And for whatever reason they put us in the Handicap room which is not an issue for us however the bathroom shower had no tub and the water leaked everywhere on the floor. The lights were fitted with natural light bulbs so we felt we were in a lab. Lastly, when we checked in the staff mentioned they would notify us via text message or phone call -but they never did.

Staff were very accommodating allowing us to check in. 2hrs ahead. However, the room did not feel clean. The bedsheets had hair on it and were itchy, felt like something was crawling up my legs everytime I was on the bed and water had a funky scent even after using soap.

I have stayed here before at it was fine but this time the floor was dirty and when i went to use the broom it was filled with globs of hair. The mattress sinks in the middle so my husband slept on the couch. The lady at the front desk was very apologetic and had the floor cleaned which i appreciated. The price is pretty good, but otherwise disappointed.

I stayed in the Captain's Quarters and its a studio apt all by itself! It was wonderful! Very clean, quiet, organized and full kitchen! Had everything I need plus more! Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Its only 1/2 block off main strip and walking distance to the beach. Will definitely come back and stay in the Captains Quarters again! Kudos to the housekeeping staff as everything was so nice and clean! Made my visit very comfortable and pleasant. Thank you!
