Twelve years ago, I stayed at this hotel with great excitement and had a wonderful experience. That’s why I chose to return with my family for a vacation — but unfortunately, this time was a complete disappointment. The room carpets had a strong, unpleasant odor, and to make matters worse, I had to kill a cockroach that appeared on the carpet at night. When I informed the reception, their reaction was shockingly casual — just an “Oh, that’s bad,” with no apology or effort to make things right. For a 4-star hotel and a recognized brand, this level of hygiene and customer service is absolutely unacceptable. I will never stay here again, and I would not recommend it to anyone!!!!

The hotel is conveniently situated close to the city center and beach. The staff is very polite and helpful and check-in was quick. On the other hand, meals and drinks in the hotel are very expensive and a 18 % service charge is added to everything. Also, there is no normal parking (only very expensive valet parking). Some rooms are also quite noisy as the hotel is situated in the corner of the freeway.

I had a great stay at the Hilton Santa Monica. The location is ideal—just a short walk to the pier, beach, and local shops. Tried checking into the hotel at 12:30pm and was told my room was ready but that it would be an extra $100 to check in before 1:00pm. Ridiculous and a terrible way to start off someone’s stay at the hotel.

The staff were excellent, especially the breakfast team—everyone was exceptionally courteous, helpful, and accommodating. The breakfast was fresh and very good with a lot of variety.
