Overall very good though a bit noisy with bumps above head due to thin walls and ceiling maybe. One thing: they have a small outdoor parking lot, not locked, and charge $36 per day. The streets on either side of the lot have free parking and are just as safe though you need to observe the street sweeping signs. It was worth it to move my car in the morning. The street is literally a few steps from the hotel lot. $36 is unreasonable to charge for an unsecured outdoor parking lot. The hotel has old-school charm and beauty. Their bar, The Edmon, it beautiful art deco. Recommended hotel overall.

This hotel was a nice find. Conveniently located with historic charm. Rate was very reasonable. Convenient and reasonably priced monitored parking lot in rear. We arrived early on day of check-in and we were allowed to leave our bags until we checked -in. The nice coffee shop next door was recommended where we refreshed before taking the short way to Paramount Studios for a wonderful tour. Many choices for food around the hotel, including the attached restaurant/bar where we had fantastic drinks. Across the Street and down the block was a great Filipino restaurant Kuya Lord. Winchell's donuts was on street over. Our room was super clean and towels refreshed daily. Our room had a great view of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory which was a really nice surprise. Complimentary water bottles were provided. No hotel breakfast but don't normally take advantage of that. At the lobby desk were Betty and Johan (Michael). They were so friendly and helpful. Thank you Betty for all the food and drink suggestions! Only note for those requiring absolute quiet, our room faced Melrose St which had some traffic noise. Didn't bother us but might for those sensitive to that. The location was close to all the site seeing we did in LA and Hollywood. Would definitely return here next time around!

This charming hotel was clean and the staff was attentive, next door was as a pastry coffee shop. The jewel was the hotel restaurant with courtyard. Bartender was creative and food was amazing. Big surprise. Will be back

We are a retired couple on holiday from Australia. We found the Historic Hollywood Hotel to be well-priced. It's conveniently located on Melrose Avenue. It is less than 2 km (just over 1 mile) from Larchmont Village for local coffee shops and restaurants. It's also about 3 km (2 miles) from the famous intersection of Hollywood and Vine. Our room was spacious and comfortable with 2 queen beds. The mattresses weren't great, but with one each were satisfactory. The free Wi-Fi worked well enough. The Edmon cocktail bar attached to the hotel was a popular local watering hole with an excellent bar menu for meals. And right next door in the same building was Sweet Corner Coffee and Cakes - good for breakfast, morning tea or a light lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, would highly recommend if wanting affordable accommodation very close to the action in Hollywood.

I like the vintage feel to the hotel. If you want anything fancy and modern this is not the hotel you want, go to a Westin or Hilton, but if you want a nice, calm, and cozy hotel this is the hotel for you. I would totally be back.
