Clean and basic

Room was clean. Basic hotel for 1-2 night stay. Parking was plentiful. Staff was friendly however I tried multiple times to call the hotel and if there’s no one at the front desk they wouldn’t answer. Biggest complaint was the staff was cleaning or doing maintenance downstairs and kept going in and out of the room and just letting the door slam. It was so loud and we were in the 3rd floor. It occurred the 2 days in a row that we were there and both times I was sleeping. once starting at 7:30am and then another time around 3:00pm. it was so disturbing and for that reason would probably not stay again. But no complaints otherwise so maybe if they read this review and tell their workers to close the doors without slamming then it would be worth to stay again.

City of Hope

This was a good place to stay if you have someone at the City of Hope. It’s about a mile walk on flat streets to the campus. The hotel staff was kind and it was a nice quiet place to relax after a day at the hospital.

I reserved a handicap room. There wasn't one available when we checked in. One of our guests is in a wheelchair and can't get into the bathroom. The hallways and elevator were disgustingly dirty. The carpets and walls in our room were also extremely dirty. It was so dirty you couldn't walk on the carpet barefooted. I asked for a clothespin or something to close the drapes, but the front desk manager couldn't help and suggested using a chair to hold them shut.

The bed wasn't comfortable at all, and the pillows were so flat I had to stack two just to get by. We couldn’t get the AC to work at first and had to call for help. The front desk staff member came up promptly and got it running, which we appreciated. Overall, the room was okay, but the bedding and initial AC issue made the stay less enjoyable.

Overall good experience

Very beautiful hotel, amazing room with patio all the way around the building. We had the bottom floor, which was still nice with the patio. Unfortunately, the TV remote didn’t work and the fan in the bathroom didn’t work. Otherwise, it was a great room. Some blemishes here and there, but overall very comfortable. The bed was so soft and the curtains were blackout so we were able to get extra rest.
