Our Favorite Long Beach Getaway

We have stayed here a number of times and have always enjoyed it. The rooms are spacious and quiet (though if you sleep with your windows open you’ll hear the grackles—birds—in the mornings.) The beds are comfortable and clean. The location is great: walk to the beach, and Vons grocery is next door. Staff are nice.

Staff was wonderful and room was clean. Only drawback was pullout bed was like camping. Thin mattress and my son didn't sleep well. Should have just done the 2 queen beds. Shower was in room. Not bedt for moms. Had to send the family out so i could shower. But great location and nice people.

Close to the beach which was good. Walked or used Uber to get around. Bed needs replacing in the room we had, way too soft for us. Room has been modernised although could see scuff marks around the bottom of walls. Room was not dark enough at night as there was a stairway light on all night that shone through the windows, even with the blinds down. Welcome bag with snacks was a nice touch.

Cons: Weather stripping on door wasn’t working. Had to put a towel down to block the draft as it was cold during stay. The parking was difficult but doable. Transients nearby that made it feel unsafe. Could hear everything going on outside. Lights from outside lit up room all night. No coffee maker. Pros: Walkable area with beach a block away. Right near a pier. Brewery with great food and drinks near by. Nice sized mini-fridge. Overall: Feels a little ghetto but it’s doable and nice at the same time. Price works well for location and what’s available. Will be back.

Our room in the back building of the property is on an alley, under which vagrants were staying. Our sleep was interrupted on our first night twice by knocks at the door, which we ignored, but obviously this woke us up and was disturbing. The staff were very accommodating about it when we mentioned it the next morning and moved us to a room in the main building for our next 2 nights, so we were satisfied. Otherwise, the location is very good with walking access to the beach. The room was clean and recently redone. However, I would like to suggest that they add in-room coffee makers.

We had a room the was right on the sidewalk of the main road which was loud and had lots of people walking by all the time. This room was also isolated and was the only one one the roads which seemed sketchy. There are rooms tucked into the building which might have been nicer. Our room was also conjoining with their office area and could hear people on the other side which was odd. Cleanliness of the room wasn’t great but bathroom was surprising ly clean. Close to the beach and seems like a safe area; also next to a grocery store.
