Overall we enjoyed our stay on the Queen Mary, and I would recommend it to others. I only had one big issue which i will mention at the end of my review. The place is an experience. So cool the way it is kept authentic. The staff was immediately attentive when we pulled up. The food quality was great, however it was pricey. There isn't really any other food options around unless you want to travel a bit away from the port. I would have rated 5 stars but had to lower to 4 due to one incident. We had just come back to the Queen Mary from a day tour of LA. I had several bags in my hands and other items, water, phone etc. I thanked our guide and then turned to go back into the hotel. I tripped over a concrete slab that houses a flag pole. I fell extremely hard injuring my knee and my head. Several employees out front witnessed the incident. However, not a single employee came over to see if i was ok. Even when my husband assisted my back into the hotel, we walked by the outside desk area, not one person asked me if i was ok. Ultimately i suffered a horrible black eye, multiple bruises on my legs feet and hip, and a possible minor concussion. I recommend they paint that slab a bright color or something. And no, i had not had a single drink all day. I just didn't see it as you wouldn't expect a flag pole to be up on a slab of concrete. I take the brunt of the blame for being clumsy, but someone could have asked me if i was ok.
