We arrived at the hotel, and based on the photos online, it seemed like it would be a good stay. However, once we were given our room, it looked nothing like what we had reserved. It was a very small room, even though it was supposed to be a penthouse. The space felt dull, gray, and lacked any color or charm. We realized we had fallen into misleading advertising and decided not to stay there. The receptionist told us she couldn’t do anything about the rate we had paid. She offered us another room for the night, but we didn’t even want to see it. We stayed in the assigned room for barely two minutes before deciding to leave. We kindly declined the offer to change rooms and asked to please cancel any additional charges that might have been placed on our card. We are very disappointed and feel scammed. Thank you for your attention.

Loved our stay at Venice V Hotel. Our room was super cute & clean. Staff was welcoming & accommodating. We used the hotel bikes to ride on the beach. Right on the beach & the boardwalk! And there’s a coffee shop next door, we’d get a cup of coffee & sit outside in front of the hotel. We’d definitely stay there again!

I highly recommend the PH level rooms. They are beachfront and you have a beautiful view. We were centrally located on the Venice beach strip within easy walking distance to everything. The room was recently remodeled as well.

Awesome stay at Venice V hotel in the heart of Venice beach. The PH was so unique with a Marocan vibe and ocean view. Valet parking was so great as finding parking in this area is really REALLY difficult. I ll come back!

One of the Worst Hotel Experiences of My Life – Stay Away! Our stay at Venice V Hotel was an absolute disaster from start to finish. We booked what was advertised as a PH Bungalow Penthouse with ocean view—but instead, we were given a completely different room with no real ocean view at all. At best, there was a tiny side window where you could barely catch a sliver of the ocean if you strained your neck, but the main “view” was of the ugly building across the street. We specifically reserved a room with a king-size bed, but the bed was nowhere near king size—barely even a queen. To make matters worse, the pillows and blankets were some of the most uncomfortable I’ve ever encountered in a hotel. The photos on Expedia are extremely misleading. They show images of multiple different rooms, giving the false impression that you’re booking a spacious, luxurious suite. In reality, the room we got was cramped and nothing like the pictures. Most reputable hotels show photos of the actual room type you’re booking—not here. For the price we paid, the amenities were a joke. The room didn’t even have a mini fridge—which is absolutely ridiculous for a so-called “penthouse” room. And the customer service? Easily some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Every request we made was met with a blunt “No, we can’t.” Even the manager was shockingly rude and dismissive. I strongly urge anyone considering this place to *stay far, far away*. Save yourself the money, stress, and dissapointment

After spending two nights in a room we didn’t book, we were finally moved to an ocean view as promised. On top of that, they charge over $50 per day just to park in their own lot, which felt excessive. As a smoker staying in the penthouse, I assumed I could smoke outside on the rooftop. (Using a cup as an ashtray & not littering) Halfway through my stay, I received a text threatening a $400 fine for smoking, stating it’s not allowed in rooms or on the rooftop. When I spoke to a staff member about it, he admitted there were no signs posted stating this rule. Since I couldn’t smoke upstairs in a safe outdoor space, I went outside at night to have a cigarette near the front entrance. A front desk employee named Maya came out and rudely told me I couldn’t smoke there either and that I (a young woman) had to cross the street alone, at night, just to smoke. I’ve never dealt with so many issues at a hotel before, nor have I been spoken to so rudely by staff. The only highlight of my stay was NICK who was the only respectful and kind employee I encountered (besides housekeeping) Honestly, he’s the reason we didn’t check out early. Unfortunately, I will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.
