Rio place has been our go to place for the past 8 years, we go there every year. This time things were different. Hotel needs major face lift and upgrade, everything is old, somewhat out of shape. Food is still decent but nothing close to what it used to be and more importantly variety doesnt change like it used to, you keep seeing the same foods. Somewhat boring now. So i hope they do something about it otherwise even their loyal customers might consider trying other places.

Staff was absolutely phenomenal. I was so impressed with every single person who worked there. Every single person went the extra mile. This was my first stay at an all inclusive and to be honest, I prefer smaller places but we were there for a wedding. Several people in our party got sick, including me and I know to be be very careful in Mexico. I know it's common to get some kind of GI bug in Mexico but I just wonder if producing so much food for so many people makes for a riskier environment. That being said, the food was generally pretty good. The separate restaurants were the best. Preferable over the buffet but hard to get into. The entertainment was really fun and the performers really gave it their all. I think, from what I was told, that for an AI, this one is one of the top ones.

The staff were lovely, pretty good food and it’s a great location, but the hotel needs a serious update. Was here 15 years ago and it seems like nothing has changed. Rooms are pretty old looking and the hotel seems a bit run down overall. Pools were pretty cold too. Would only come back if there was an upgrade to the property.

We came with a large group and I would 100% do it again! The pools and swim up bars were always clean and refreshing! The staff was attentive, polite and fun to talk to! The rooms were a great size and clean. The property was beautiful, especially the ocean view from the pools. You can see the bay and lover's beach and at night the sunset was breath taking. The beach area in the resort was nice and had lots of shade. You couldn't really put your feet in the ocean unless you walked farther down toward the bay. (Waves too big) I didn't mind the walk, it was a good way to see the 3 resorts and the venders and their beautiful goods (they didn't cross the line from the beach to the resort beach). The poolside entertainment was super fun! The food was fantastic! The restaurants were all amazing and top notch, my favourite was the Japanese restaurant! The buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was very delicious and fresh with a different theme every night. (My favourite was Mexican) By the pool was a snack bar (Pepe's) which was very convenient, especially being poolside for hours at a time. They had a 24 hour lounge that was great for a midnight snack after dancing or catching up on emails. The morning coffee house had a great variety of coffee and it was a terrific place to meet up in the morning with our group before or after breakfast. We took advantage of the beautiful lounge for drinks at night for before and after dinner. Thanks for the amazing memories, we will be back!

Pool bar was always great with service from Angel, Gail and Silverio. The Evenings were spent in Ventana lounge always enjoying the service from Miguel and most of all our friend Pedro as he was also amazing 2 years ago. Food was very good with amazing service at all restaurants.

Everything was clean, the food ad facilities were amazing and the staff are so friendly!! My only minor complaint was the bathroom door in the room-it had weird gappy slats in it so if you need to have a poo, everyone will see and hear 😆

Staff is exceptional, the views exceptional, the “all you can eat buffet” (which we normally do NOT care for) was exceptional! The only real complaint would be the older, musty smelling rooms, which are in dire need of an update.

We had several outstanding employees we would like to note Gary- poolside bar tender awesome dude Estabon- spanish class lots of fun laughing and sounding rubi- sales checking to make sure everything is great with our stay and last but not least so many others also America- dinner waitress very smart and amazing lady she is more than awesome and uncle eddy THANKS AGAIN KEITH AND LINDA
