The bones of The Brown are truly gorgeous. Historic architectural features of stone and marble and wood all speak of a day gone by. The hotel just needs some attention; specifically bedrooms and bathrooms. Our first room had a significant mold smell and when we requested a change they immediately complied with a room on the tenth floor with a beautiful view. We had a very good breakfast in their very impressive buffet. The service was great and the food options were endless. The rooftop area was the most impressive to us as it was a gorgeous day and the space is magical.

Hotel check-in/lobby was on the second floor, a different floor than the entrance. Being a very old hotel it is still well taken care of, though I felt the furniture could use a steam cleaning. Our bed was super comfy, but they gave us a handicap accessible room which was awkward. I should have asked for a different room right away but we made it work. The ironing board was bent and there was no mini-fridge in the room. Enjoyed the lobby, it was a great place for socializing.
