The vibe of the hotel is very nice & the staff was friendly & helpful. I was excited to stay here bc I’d heard how nice it is. My room was disappointing, though . The bed was improperly made, so it looked like the sheets were going to come off & I could see the bed frame & box springs. The bed was hard as a rock & every time I moved it sounded like it was coming out of the wall. I could hear the person in the room next to me when his alarm went off & his subsequent hitting of the snooze button. The full-length mirror was filthy, as was the make-up mirror. The front desk was mortified when I told them & did their best to make it right, but I don’t think I’d stay again.

Beautiful historic hotel near the Texas Tech campus and Buddy Holly Center. Stay was comfortable and quiet. Only issue was in the restaurant. Came in at 9:50 pm for coffee and dessert. Server took our order for the coffee, but then disappeared for 20 minutes. Finally came with the coffee and took our dessert order, but then disappeared for another 20 minutes. Finally got our desserts after around 45 minutes total time. Restaurant was not busy, with only 1 or 2 other tables occupied.
