Excellent Hotel
This hotel is an excellent place to stay at if you are wanting to stay close to the Texas Tech University. The hotel looks and smells clean. The room was a nice size and looked very clean. Staff is friendly and very helpful. Excellent place to stay at for a very good price. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Immediately walking in the hotel looks dark and dingy and has a musty smell. I was gonna suck it up because I really wanted to just relax at the pool. Checking was easy. Upon unloading my car I looked at the pool area and it was very dirty and the pool was covered and inoperable. When I asked for a refund the young lady was nice but had to call the manager. Her dad I suspect. He was very rude and told me to get my stuff and leave then contact Expedia. I did not leave, I called Expedia and they handled everything for me. I left but it took 2-3 weeks to get my refund. The picture of the property inside are accurate but most definitely enhanced. It’s very old and dingy.

Miserable female manager who was unpleasant
Female manager at checkin is a miserable person. She was very abrupt and not friendly. She was the same about 3 weeks ago. I don’t think she has a personal problem at home. I just think she hates her job. I am not staying for free. I am paying for a room therefore I expect her to pretend to be nice.

I tried to cancel this reservation and go elsewhere as prices evened out over the weekend. But it was too late to do so. The hotel appears to be not that great. Our room however was clean and okay. Facilities are pretty dated, and based on reviews and what we saw, it really depends on the room you get. We stayed Friday, a day where the manager said they had 15-20 extra rooms open compared to Saturday. So we think they put us in one of the better rooms. Hotel staff was not very knowledgeable of shuttle details, and were hard to understand. Heavy accents and no articulation. I’m sorry to say that, but it was true. The elevator sounds like it was gonna come crashing down. Overall, we were fine and our room we stayed in felt clean. Like I said, the reviews aren’t lying, it’s a gamble on how your experience will be based off of the room you get!

Rooms are dated - lamp bases and bathroom accessories were rusted. The air unit had a very loud cycle then would get quiet - woke me up all night long. Every corner on the room was dirty. There was something smeared on the wall right in the entry - I did take a rag and clean it. Walls are thin - you can hear everything. The exterior door had a key swipe but the door never locked (did not feel safe as it is right beside a stairwell). We were charged $279/night (TTU family weekend) so it really left me feeling cheated because the quality definitely did not fit the cost.
