Flith and disgust!!
Make the drive to Cuero for a room. While the pictures look nice and the rooms at first-very quick glance appear decent, they are not. We had a huge party staying at the Black Gold and not one person didnt have an issue. Personally- it started with unknown spots on the bedding and upon further review, it was just nasty. Manager kindly moved our room, however the next, the toilet didnt work. 3rd times a charm right, nope- so we moved to another hotel. Manager says she is trying but is well aware of the flith and conditions. Take a second thought to staying as I wish I orgianlly followed my gut and made the very quick drive to Cuero to start with. Hotels.com was freat with assiting the cancelation during the stay**

You could hear people thru the walls. We had to change rooms the first night due to noise from adjoining room. Also faucet in bathroom was broken loose and about to come off. The continental breakfast was pitiful. There was supposed to be eggs and sausage but there was only some once in 3 days. The coffee out of the machine was terrible.

My stay was terrible I wanted to check in early and I had called the day before because I was traveling from out of town.The worker stated it would be fine then I get there stood in the lobby for several minutes.no one showed up and then I called no answer I had to search for someone who I thought was a cleaning lady only to find out it was the manger.No staff She stated if I wanted to check in early it would be a 20 dollar early check in fee The person I called the day before didn't state there would be a fee .She stated my room was clean and ready then why charge extra.I came back at 2pm to check in.Ding covers room seem ok dingy towels . Breakfast was horrible the next day One breakfast is all they had 3 hostess danishes ,eggs were thrown on the top of what looks like old eggs coffee ok but I will not be back and I paid more They make alot of excuses at this hotel.horriable experience.

EZ and friendly check in. Room was hot AC was off we turned it on. Went to bed. My allergies and my GF allergies acted up bad!! Towels in bathroom guess were for decoration? They didn’t seem to dry you. Checkout was quick. About 20 after we left our allergies went away.

Ownership step up!
The staff was friendly and fabulous! That said, the owner obviously skimps on conveniences and repairs, including those involving safety. I spoke with numerous guests and none of us received caffeinated coffee in our rooms; the owner shouldn’t make the decision to only provide decaf—it was a cheap decision to be made. A broken hairdryer had no screen and wouldn’t stay in the holder; dangerous as hair can get caught and catch on fire and it could also fall in the sink. The pool (not that I used it) was an off green and certainly needs to be checked by the health department to increase chemicals for algae. The saddest part, the lobby had no air, I felt awful for the staff having to work I. Such hot conditions, especially when they were so friendly and helpful. Ownership needs to step up and make repairs!

This hotel is definitely overpriced the continental breakfast was horrible. Service was horrible we needed towels in the middle of the night after swimming and the night person refused to give us towels. I will never return to this motel and I'll make sure none of my family does either. Also there was a roaches in the room that were very much so and nuisance.

The bathroom smelled horrible - like a really musty bad smell. It was so bad our last day when we woke up that we left earlier than we were going to and opted to be at the airport hours before we needed to be. The breakfast was horrible and very limited. The bath towels were almost the size of hand towels. The towel bar was broken. The shower’s water was luke warm. The room was hot as heck when we first walked in and we had to crank up the AC.

I had a room where the main lock would not lock.told the staff the same day and they said they would fix it in the morning. Well they never fixed it. As I was checking out I asked them about the situation and all they could offer was excuses. They could have at least offered to take something off my bill but they didn’t. Very unsafe conditions but you really have no other choices because the hotel situation in Yoakum is terrible.
