Room wasn’t ready, as 3rd person bed wasn’t made. They forgot to contact parking so we got stuck in car elevator for 20min. Elevator doors being opened manually. They had issue with bad batch coffee in the morning breakfast. Even with do not disturb sign, they enter the room. Checking out I asked to see manager, since there wasn’t any. Asked to be called. No one called. Sent an email using hotel.com it’s been 5 days still nothing. I don’t recommend.

Les employés manque de professionnalisme
Accueil amateur tellement vue le nom j’ai penser à une école mais non. Aucune communication entre les employés qui semble tous être atteints du déficit d’attention ont est rester coincé dans un ascenseur à voiture 20 minutes car il fallait qu’un employé ouvre la porte manuellement et non vous pouvez pas le faire vous même puisque c’est trop étroit pour ouvrir une porte. Et même à notre départ en ayant signalé le problème à l’arrivée meme problème. Chambre pas préparer correctement, propreté limite. Le jour du départ malgré la pancarte ne pas déranger et le départ jusqu’à midi à 10h20 la femme de chambre entre dans la chambre. Déjà la pancarte et ensuite le jour du départ il attend que tu sois parti pour faire le grand ménage. Et en passant il y a 12 chambres donc pas trop compliqué pour la communication. Vraiment très décevant.

Excellent short stay in old town Lyon
Superb historical location at the edge of old town. Perfect for a 3-4 day stay when visiting Lyon 1st time. Historic building means there are certain physical limitations but they did a great job with decors & renos. I rate it 4.25 stars by international hotel standards. Showers can be cleaner. Stairways outside can smell due to historical layout. Parking is a bit of a pain if you are not used to cramped euro-style & not in same building.

Vacation within a vacation.
We were there just one night as an overnight trip from our stay in Paris. The hotel was close to a lot of restaurants and things to do. The staff was super friendly and the hotel had a lot of unique character. I would stay there again for sure.

At the quiet end of Vieux Lyon, first rate boulangerie just steps away, lots of eateries nearby, great urban location. Splurged on a ‘Suite Lumière” which was a great place to relax after busy days walking all over town.

We had a huge (family) room here which suited us well. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom facilities were spacious and the furniture more than functional. A small fridge would have been nice. There is a good elevator but you’ll likely still have some stairs to climb up or down to your room. Location was excellent. Walking distance to everywhere! Close to Terreaux. Bus system was great and very close for reaching more distant areas if the city.

This boutique hotel was a gem. The front desk staff were so professional, helpful and welcoming. The layout is beautiful and very clean. I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat. I highly recommend this hotel property.

Nice location in old part of Lyon. Excellent service, very friendly staff. We were very disappointed with the room with no window and no ac. Bathroom didn’t have a glass in the shower area, so when you take a shower water was all over the place and floor was slippery.

Underwhelming in old town
Walkable neighborhood yet service and quality were underwhelming. It is still warm in Lyon in September, yet no air conditioning. Why would you need heat when it is 22c. Don’t stay here if you have allergies. It is very dusty.

L'Academie Hotel is a jewel hotel in Old Lyon!! Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! The perfect location, the friendly stuff, the history of the building, the beauty of their rooms... Our room was one of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed in Europe!!.
