We really enjoyed our stay here, driving up felt like entering the set of Downton Abby!! We stayed in one of the side apartments - it was so beautiful and we loved the walking path near by. The down side is that we didn't get sheets or towels provided, (also no hand soap!) By the time we noticed, the staff had already left for the evening. Luckily we had some of our own bedding, There had been some discussion about sheets during check in, but there must clearly have been a misunderstanding. Anyway, it was still a lovely stay, and definitely makes for a funny story. I definitely recommend, but be prepared
It is a beautiful place, house is very convenient with kitchenette, parking onsite, late check-in was not a problem, staff very friendly…
it would have been 10 out of 10 if not for the small print - bed sheets and towels are extra charge…!?
The location is stunning and convenient 30minutes walk into Valkenburg. The parking is free and plentiful. The staff was friendly but didn't need them much. The rooms are a bit dated but great to have sitting room and kitchenette. Only complaint is that the Brassiere closed at 6pm which is a bit early!
This old castle had a very homey feel to it. Its not the most modern of places bit but you are staying in a castle that origionally dates back to the 1300s, though the current facade was done in 1600s. Pay attention to the checkin time, if you are going to be late call the desk they are super nice.
Stay was very nice, the area was peaceful, and the staff was helpful.
The only 2 issues that we had were that the only access to the bedrooms was up a steep staircase. For the younger generation, it was fine but for my mother, it was a bit hard so we ended up making here a bed in the living room.
Second, is that there was no parking near the room entrance. We could drive the car in to unload but then returned it to the parking area outside the keep.
None of this deterred from the delight of our visit but only an adjustment that needed to be made.
This hotel is in lush and mountainous countryside by a swift flowing lovely river.
We had a very nice dinner the night of our stay and a good complete breakfast ,the latter included in our room rate.
I was expecting to be staying in the castle itself. I had some very disappointed kids. The rooms were on the grounds...servant quarters....spacious three bedroom apartment but no castle. :(

Mooie lokatie zonder extra's.
Ontvangst was letterlijk en figuurlijk wat koud. Bij aankomst was het appartement 15C. Bedden moesten we zelf opmaken.
