Good value and location
It was good value for money, excellent location, staff were friendly and knowledgeable
We stayed in a beautiful apartment in the hostoric city centre. The apartment is beautiful and large. Because restaurants are closed at the moment, it was also really useful to have a well equipped kitchen and a fridge.
I would happily stay here again!
Reception was great. Employee was very friendly, cooperative and knowledgeable about the area (e.g. where to park economically, places to visti etc.).
Location of the hotel is great with ample places to eat/drink and visit.
We had a good 3 night stay at the Zenden. Firstly, staff were great. Printed train tickets out for us which was a massive help, always on hand to help. Room was clean, very minimal, with a low ceiling (ouch, banged my head once or twice!) No coffee/tea maker in the room. There is an amazing pool which guests can access, although lots of local children use it in the afternoons. Location is super convenient for most of what Maastricht has to offer. Would recommend.
Loved the “satellite” studio we had which was a few doors away from the main building in an old house on a quiet street in the centre of old Maastricht. The studio was clean and bright with the whole back wall being of glass doors that opened onto a lovely little private courtyard garden.
Thin walls and breakfast not worth it but friendly
The hotel was really nice but unfortunately the walls are quite thin. I heard the people next door watch TV until 11PM and the people chatting downstairs in the 'lobby' can be heard very loudly in Room 4 (the closest to the stairs going down) as well. That's not ideal when you have to work early the next day.
The breakfast is not really worth the money charged either. There is hardly any selection of foods (and no healthy choices despite it being a gym-hotel), which is understandable as there are only a few (under 10 I believe) rooms, BUT it shouldn't cost as much as it does.
The best thing was still the room and the bed. Once the next-doors shut up and the lobby people went home it was quiet and I slept very well indeed.

Is this a sports centre or a hotel???
This is a difficult one to review.
Great location and a good hotel....but it is used as a sports centre for the locals and is very odd to walk in and be meet by waiting parents for their children to finish a class!
Our friends also complained of noise levels - but we were fine....
The white décor probably looked amazing when new - but it is difficult to keep this fresh looking and crisp.
Check in was acceptable.
I think that there are better options but I still would recommend this hotel - it is unique.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Great for business travel. The staff were really friendly - went out of their way to help us. Lovely Italian restaurant around the corner
Stayed in a studio. Clean and comfortable. The mezzanine bedroom with a spiral staircase required negotiation as did four flights of stairs with luggage. Location is excellent and quality of design and maintenance is high
I booked a "studio." The hotels.com website does not indicate anywhere that these rooms are located in different buildings 1-2 blocks away from the hotel. On Sundays after 3pm there is no staff on site to check you in, you just get a key and a map to find your place. There is very limited room servicing during your stay (e.g., there is not second roll of toilet paper, no replenishment of soap or shampoo, no cleaning). The apartment itself was very spacious and comfortable (except for a very steep metal staircase to climb to the bed, which would be unsuitable for many travellers). Overall, the hotels.com website provides insufficient information about peculiarities of this accommodation to make an informed booking.
Great for a quick trip as a single traveller, lovely big room, quiet at night but right in the centre of the beautiful old town and with helpful but unobtrusive staff and a nice pool. Only issues which I might consider before booking again were that there was nowhere to put clothes other than a short rail and the shower was visible to the room so not ideal for sharing with anyone other than intimates.
Great central location, however cleanliness needs work. In our room floors have not been vacuumed at all. Personnel was responsive and helpful most of the time.
Zenden Design Hotel is a great little hotel in the centre of Maastricht. It is quiet, interesting and the standard room is compact but very well designed and clean. The breakfast space is pleasant and light, while there is a pool in the basement which was one of the most pleasant I have been in - warm and peaceful. The only reservation is that the TV isn't very visible because it is behind a screen... In all a charming hotel that I would definitely recommend.
Was our second time however in a different building. Also nice place to stay close to all activity (resto/shops) in the city centre, quite street with easy access.
Rooms are perfectly maintained and fully equipped.
rooms were newly renovated, ultra-modern, in an ancient building. some attic rooms had no view, but still comfortable. staff was fine, although the desk is only occupied during the day. Good wireless, bathrooms, very comfortable bed.
It an apartment like hotel, with no reception at the same building and no elevator. If you travel by car, paid garage is right next to it. Full kitchen in the room. Dishes and pots are included.
