Went to the MECC for a Jazz Brunch and this location was perfect. Walkable to the town centre. Towels were ok but not real soft and fluffy. The pillows were ok but quite thin and only one spare in the cupboard. The bed had one blanket that was minky soft but it was also very thin with no spare blanket to use. and it was it cold while the aircon was hard to get to the correct temp in the room so half the night we were freezing and turning up the aircon a bit at a time. No spare blanket. The receptionist was great.

We stayed here with our work crew and booked 5 rooms. The motel is in a nice and quiet location. The rooms are clean and tidy. The staff are great and take pride in the motel, which really shows. All our guys were very pleased - so it's definitely a motel I'd highly recommend. When we're in Mackay next we'll be back to Shakespeare Motel for sure.
