Loved the chairs out on the lawn overlooking the water...very relaxing. Didn't like the fact that our luggage when leaving was tagged and sent to Sheplers, when we had told them we were using Arnolds...inconvenient.

The grounds are beautiful and the staff is so friendly. The mechanics are a bit old, which is good to keep in mind when placed in a room near the elevator. It’s not horrible but definitely noticeable. Additional small touches to the room would make a huge difference. There are few places in the bathroom to hang your things and no furniture to unpack into. There is also a lot of empty wall space in the room where shelves or wall hooks would be super helpful.

Pool was freezing in July. Fun little putt-putt on property. They gave each kid a card for the arcade with some credit on it. Bike rentals are a small fortune (more than I've ever paid to rent a car considering it's about $100/day PER PERSON).

Positives include the proximity to the lake shore, walkability to town (though there are many other closer hotels), beautiful gardens, and close hikes like arch rock. I also love that there were physical room keys. The parts that I didn’t like- The building is very old and has not been updated. The rooms were not very clean- lots of bits of dirt on the bathroom floor and tub. We had a baby stroller with us and despite the receptionists saying they put us in a convenient room, it was on the second floor in another building and just about as far as you could possibly have to walk from the lobby. Overall impression: for the steep price that we paid, I was expecting nicer accommodations.

Overall great property.

We had many many glitches along the way including needing to change one of our rooms. Very annoying…. But the staff was amazing and really helpful the whole way through. The grounds are magical in the summer. Downtown is a quick 10min walk or $10pp horse ride down. Spa was relaxing!

This property was fine. Very nice location a bit away from the business of Main Street but very walkable. Lovely grounds overlooking the lake although we were in the Strait Lodge away from the water and overlooking a parking lot. Beds were clean and comfortable. The rooms are very old which is part of the charm, but the tile in the bathroom was in rough shape and overall felt a bit dated.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. I enjoyed the morning offerings such as walking tours and yoga. There are no water refill stations anywhere which is a shame. I bring a water bottle with me to avoid plastics, but there was no water available to fill it. I would have also appreciated a coffee/tea station in the mornings. Most resorts offer coffee and water so this was slightly disappointing. To add insult to this, I paid $8 for a latte which took a while to make (very slow)! The fitness area/gym is outdated with old equipment. Other than these inconveniences, the property and its location are lovely. The staff are welcoming and friendly.

My wife is handicapped and has trouble walking. The service of sending a wheelchair and a person to push it to transport us from our room to the pickup point was greatly appreciated. The breakfasts were excellent, and the service was also great. The House keeper was so helpful and I would like to single her out for the time she spent helping me and my wife find our room. She wrote her name down but I can't find the note she gave me. Thank you for a wonderful three days.

Good location, poor air conditioning

The room itself was clean, comfortable, and had a nice setup. However, the air conditioning was a big issue during my stay. The unit was extremely loud, ran constantly through the night, and unfortunately didn’t cool the room at all. It made it difficult to sleep and really took away from what could have been a great stay. The front desk stated that every room had these portable air conditioners. I will not be back.

Spectacular Getaway @Mission Point

Everyone is super nice and friendly and the road to Mission Point is spectacular tree lined path & flowers ! We brought our bikes, so we hopped on & rode right there - but there's a horse taxi to take you there as well. Many places to dine right on the property & even a little place to play put put golf. There are chairs on the lawn to relax in at the end of the day. The whole Mackinac Island experience was spectacular - we can't wait to come back !! PS. Reservations include the luggage transfer right there too - so you can enjoy your day right as you arrive !

We loved our stay at Mission Point Resort. The location was perfect - about a 10-15 minute walk into downtown but far enough away where it was very private and quiet. The amenities were also great - we took advantage of the bike rentals, pool, fitness center, and on-site restaurants for breakfast and lunch. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the island!

Frigid pool

Pool was frigid! My kids thought Lake Huron was warmer. It was hard to get in. The two hot tubs only held 4 people. It would be nice if spot to sit outside by rooms instead of having to walk all way down. It seemed like missed opportunity to have yard games- bags, bocce, croquet etc. Not many classes actually offered during wk for kids and families. We ran out of things to do there. Was often a 20 minute wait to get coffee in morning at Boxwood. No place to fill water bottles on site. It would be nice if ventilation in bathrooms. Not a lot of bike options for kids- had a hard time finding ones right size for my kids. On cold, rainy days it would be nice if they could have turned on fire places in lobby when guests played games there.
