This was only a one night stay and the historical hotel was very interesting and fun to stay at. I liked the fact we could have our breakfast in our room or in the main building. Which was very tasty. The staff very kind.

This stay was an unexpected highlight of our trip. The house is wonderfully decorated with beautiful antiques. There were many comfortable rooms to sit in outside of our bedroom. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was truly gourmet. They set up a small table for me and my wife in front of a fireplace in a private room. The food and service were outstanding, and it was fun to meet the chef, who gave us the recipes. They even had a free charger for my electric car. And it was fun to see photos of people like Oprah Winfrey who had stayed there. I wish I could give six stars!

If it was out in the country, it a little more quieter. It would’ve been great. Just your typical city noise at night time. The highlight of the entire stay was the quiche at breakfast the next morning that was Home made by Lakecia and she even gave me the recipe. It was worth the trip.

1842 Inn exceeded my expectations. Its absolutely beautiful with just an amazing ambiance. Felicia and Latisha were so nice and so helpful. Felicia even helped carry our bags upstairs. It was unreasonably cold so the fireplace was going and relaxing music was playing. It was very welcoming and cozy. We stayed in the John Gresham room. The bed was very comfortable. We would love to stay again if we get to the area and would love to stay longer so we can explore more of the area and research the history of the home and the area.

Beautifully preserved mansion - 5 stars!

This beautifully preserved antebellum mansion exudes charm and history. The rooms are exquisitely decorated with period antiques, and the common areas are inviting and comfortable. The courtyard garden is a tranquil oasis, perfect for relaxing with a book or enjoying a glass of wine. The inn is conveniently located in the heart of Macon's historic district, within walking distance of many attractions, including the Grand Opera House and the Tubman Museum. Our stay at the 1842 Inn was an absolute delight. The combination of history, hospitality, and elegance made for a truly unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this inn to anyone visiting Macon.

Great experiential stay with character

Great staff and surroundings. We stayed in the back house but very nice. Sat out in sun on porch to read with back patio between big house and our house( 9 rooms ). No coffee in room but asked for some and it was brewed fresh in 5 mins. Beautiful 200 yr old mansion. Loved it - close to downtown for concert. Love the old town area and Phenominal older homes. Great place to stay with character rather than simply a Holiday Inn -type with gym/pool etc. AN EXPERIENCE YOU WILL CHERISH!!!

Delightfully charming and a great experience. My only disappointment was learning the room I selected wasn't part of the main house. It was freezing out, so I had to put on my coat to cross the courtyard for breakfast. Room service is an option, though!
