I found out after being in my room alone for hours (as a female) that not only could my door be opened without a room key, but that it could also be opened from the hallway while fully locked with the deadbolt. Anyone who could turn my handle from the hallway could fully enter my room without any key even while "securely locked". When I brought this issue up to the front desk, I was met with indifference and so I asked for a refund so I could stay at an alternate hotel. This was terrifying as a female staying alone as anyone could have come into my room--and this neighborhood isn't exactly ideal in Madison. With all the human trafficking that happens, I was shocked the hotel staff really didn't show much of any concern at all. Wouldn't recommend this place AT ALL to absolutely anyone.

The hotel was clean, smelled good walking through the hallways. Check in and out was easy and done online if you wanted to. The room was clean and AC was great. Overall it was a good choice for me and my best friend.

Breakfast wasn’t great but the price of the stay was a good deal. Room clean and that’s all you can hope for. Pool onsite but I didn’t use it.

Upon entering I noticed the unpleasant smell of them trying to cover up the smell of smoke with air fresheners even though they claim to be 100% smoke free. It was in the lobby, hallway and our room. When I got to the front desk, I had to call someone on the phone next to it to get there so I could check in. After a few minutes, someone came and handed me the key card. I got back in the car to drive around to unload my stuff but none of the doors opened. Turns out I was handed the wrong key card which was frustrating because we just had an 8 hour drive behind us and it was late. The guy came to the room stating he handed me the wrong one and gave me the right one. He then left and was laughing and talking to someone over the headphones, I was annoyed. The room was very small along with the bathroom and everything else really. The smell of the smoke mixed with air freshener really made it difficult to relax. Luckily it was only for one night and if it wasn’t that late, we would have looked for another place to stay. We refused to eat breakfast there due to the smell and the other guests who made me uncomfortable and decided to leave by 6 AM. The lobby was locked and had to call someone again to get to the front desk. It took them a bit so I went around and through the hallway. I saw her coming downstairs and met me there. I believe whoever works here actually lives here too which is not an issue unless we have to call them to come to the front desk which is just inconvenient.
