Room not very clean, carpet disgusting

The carpet was disgusting, sticky and slimy in between the beds. Everything is outdated and old, not cleaned very well as we found old candy under the desk and in the corner chair. There is no elevator, which wasn’t an issue with us as we were just staying one night and lacked light, but I was surprised by that fact.

Property is Run-Down

Sorry to say, but this property is run-down and nowhere near an 8.6 rating (which was what was reported when I booked). Maybe a 5.0 at best. The handle fell off when turning on the water for a shower. Big stain on the rug and it felt grimy to walk on. Bathroom floor has weird no-slip surface. Bathroom was small & the setup of room was weird with sink across from the bathroom. Room was dark and dingy. There is no elevator and you need to carry everything up the stairs if placed on the second floor. The pool area was run-down with what looks like mold on the wooden ceiling. The photo looks like it was from many years ago. The breakfast was nothing special, though they had some hot items. They still use styrofoam plates and cups. Positives: The staff was kind and friendly, though they were usually not at the desk, and sometimes needed to be called to appear. The bed was comfortable. They have modern controls for the A/C. The types of items at the breakfast were OK, just not a lot of selection and the ambience was not good.

Slow draining sink, lack of even 1 outlet with usb port or type c port, dark pool, no smart tv, and dated decor were drawbacks. Bed was ok though sheets and spread were decidedly old. Breakfast was ok. Cleanliness ok. Price was low enough to make the rest acceptable.

We did not have any complaints. We checked in around 11:30pm and left by 8:30am, so did not spend much time there. The hotel was easy to get to, we had enough towels and other toiletries, and the breakfast was decent.

The carpet in the room was sticky like it had never been cleaned before and in the corners of the shower there were traces of old, dried soaps. They don't do a deep clean, how disgusting, really.

The bathtub was clogged and took forever to drain. The back door where our room was, the door wouldn’t let you in with your key. It kept turning red. We had to walk all the way around to the front just to get to our room. Very inconvenient.

Front desk staff set the tone for your visit. The young man was friendly, helpful, and enjoyable to talk with. His customer service, the quiet hotel & nearby area made this such a positive experience that I would stay again.
