The let us check in early. The room was clean. Walking distance to Atocha and to main attractions (Royal Palace & Playa Mayor). You do have to carry your luggage up a decent amount of stairs, but that is known when booking.

I really enjoyed staying in this property. The staff is great very friendly and helpful. The property is very clean. Great location i felt safe at all times. Walking distance to everything a tourist needs. I will definitely stay there again when I go back to Madrid.

It is a hostle in the middle of old town Madrid. The building is old and has so much wonderful character. The room was small but if it had a chair instead of a 2nd bed it would have been great. The AC was awesome. The water taps were reversed hot for cold. It was a clean safe comfortable stay. I would recommend

Overall, yucky
Well... where do I start? - It wasn't so clean. Some weird sticky stains on the floor. - The walls are probably made of cardboard. Heard neighbors coughing and having adult fun. Literally. - The interior is old and doesn't feel cozy at all. 2 twin beds, only one night lamp - and it's flickering so couldn't really use it. - Soap/shampoo in little plastic baggies. It's even worse to the environment than using little plastic bottles... - No towel hangers in bathroom - of any type. Just invest a euro in a cheapest hook to make it somehow useful... - The room is super small. I've been in small hotel rooms, but this is SO small and impractical. On a good side - the service was ok (though I opted out room cleaning, so don't know how good is that), and the location is great. The only great thing about this place. For me, the stay wasn't a good experience. So I don't recommend.

We liked the hotel - it is a nice, clean, well maintained place in a great location. We had a problem at check-in - they gave us a twin room instead of the double we had booked. It took us 20 minutes of arguing for them to find our booking and confirm that we are actually in a double room. It was late and we were tired, they didn't even apologize for their mistake, which soured the experience. When checking out we had the exact opposite experience - a nice lady took care of our luggage and got us a taxi without any problems and with a smile.

Bad place. You can do a lot better .
They were really poor dealing with customers.Offensive owner.We got probably the smallest room in the house, One couldn't read a book (only one very dimmed light in the ceiling). Sheets and towels and seen better days.I couldn't sleep and had to find another hostal the next day.I booked on line and the room we got had nothing to do with the pictures offered on line.I felt cheated : 72E for a very small, poorly light room is unacceptable. We paid for the night, of course, but one can do a lot better than this hostal.

Right in the center.
I was able to walk almost everywhere. The metro station is right outside the building. The air conditioner worked well!!! The people were very friendly too. The only problem was with the thin walls between the rooms. I could hear everything. The location and the price would probably make me want to stay there again.

It was just ok.
Great location. No real service, just a quick check in- not unfriendly but pretty basic. The internet did not work on the third floor (my room), the guy at reception had nothing to say except it should work!! Shower worked fine, bed was fine also. I don’t think I would stay there again.

very pleasant stay
Everyone we dealt with was very nice, we loved the doors leading in (old heavy wooden) and the staircase (although there is an elevator). The rooms are cleaned every day and in general the whole place was very clean and sweet smelling. The building is also in a central location, within walking distance of most of the city sites (5 min walking to art museum, public garden/parks, botanical gardens) Only downsides were that the wifi is sometimes a bit spotty and we were a little chilly at times (we came in winter.) Would recommend to friends and family.
