Great location but Not Overwhelmed

Our stay was fine. Our room was large and the beds were comfortable. I thought it was a bit dated. There was not a coffee maker in the room. Just instant coffee with a hot pot. The shower ceiling had mildew spots all over it. We had a balcony that had a canvas cover that was full of rain. We were afraid to sit out there too long that it might drip all over us. The front desk was very helpful in calling cabs for us,but was not overly friendly. The location is good, but it is very noisy. If you like being in the center of the tourist area this is a good choice. I just think it’s a bit pricey for what you get.

Had an excellent experience at Hotel Preciados. I felt that it was very safe and easy to get to. I could nearly walk the whole city and still be nearby the hotel. For a solo traveler, I would recommend staying here

This hotel is a gem within a very walkable part of Madrid. Only stayed one night in Madrid on our way out of Spain and it was an easy walk to Plaza Major, Royal Palace, and all there is to see on Gran Via. We were so pleasantly surprised at the room and the staff were so kind and helpful. Room was very clean, hip and well-designed.

Excellent hotel, great location

Great location, lots of restaurants nearby and close to Metro Walking distance to many of the historical sites. I would stay here again Just an FYI , from airport terminals , 1 2 and 3 , the flat charge ,should be $22 and not the $33 my driver charged Nothing to do with the hotel ,just be aware

I had an inside, tiny room. Did I choose this, maybe. Or was this a “cheaper” room listed on Expedia? While tiny with no view, it was clean, well appointed & quiet. Ok for 1 person. The bath was especially nice & updated. The staff were excellent. Very close to the Palace, Cathedral, Opera House, & Grand Via the main shopping street. Not too far by foot to Plaza Mayor & Mercado San Miguel for food stalls. Dinner at the attached cafe was good. Breakfast was so-so, but then I’m picky about buffet food. The staff booked me a taxi for my departure to airport & it was the same fixed rate €33 as my outbound on arrival. My sister stayed at a different nearby hotel & her departure taxi was €50. So Preciados staff did a good job.

We have stayed here in many occasions & find it to be convenient & pleasant. It’s a shame they no longer offer treats such as shower caps, slippers & robes like they have in the past. Price wise… they are not cheap!

The stay overall was very good. Only few comments: the room had a very small window with very little light from outside and high in the wall without any way to look outside. The bathroom room mirror was heated making the room feel very warm and even hot.
