The hotel was nice except a design flaw of the shower door. Glass door only closes 2/3. Water spilled out at the end of shower. Other than that, the room was very nice. Staff are friendly. Every where is walkable distance. Really enjoy the touring around the city.

GREAT CONCIERGE SERVICES, EXCELLENT LOCATION, BU…
I not only stayed here, but took most of my meals here. I found the staff universally friendly, but the real standout—who made a huge difference in the success of my stay in Madrid, and onto Cordoba — was Alvaro, the Guest Services Manager/Concierge. He’s not only thoroughly competent and professional, but even volunteered on some things that made my whole Madrid experience so much better. The restaurant was a challenge for me — the food is excellent, but it is understaffed — I had to wait at least 45 minutes each time to be served — even late night,and it’s hard to order a ‘light’ meal here. They need to expand their offerings and have a few items that international travelled s want (EG. Salade Nicoise; a range of soups; simple sandwiches; even an omelette) I know they are proudly Spanish, but due to ther time it took to get served and fact it was hard to order “light” I twice went out and purchases lunch elsewhere, nad gtook it to my room to eat. To repeat this is NOT a criticism of the quality of the food — just the service, and the range of choices. ALSO CHARGING 4 EUROS FOR A SMALL BOTTLE OF SPRING WATER IS SILLY (AIRPORT PRICES).

A lovely hotel near the Prada and Thyssen museums as well as the Park. Staff was very friendly and the place was very clean and welcoming. Breakfast was also excellent. A good value for your money.

The staff was superb. The professionalism, friendliness, and at-your-service attitude makes the difference with other hotels. E.g., most offer storing your luggage during the day. Their system here gives you great comfort it is handled excellently.

Very convenient location: close to Atocha station, across the street from Prado museum and the botanical garden….A delicious buffet breakfast with a beautiful view on a leafy street. I would stay there again.

We usually enjoy staying at NH hotels. We've recently stayed in one in Rome and liked it very much. However we were disappointed in Madrid Nacional when the room lacked a coffee macine or a kettle, slippers and robes all of which we were accustomed to find in similar hotels On a positive note the breakfast buffet was great!

The hotel and rooms were modern and clean. When I used the communal hotel toilets one morning there was a girl in the middle cubicle distressed as she was stuck in the cubicle due to a faulty lock. I went and told the receptionist and straight away they opened a drawer and got out a key. Once they had fixed the door they didn't apologise to the woman in distress or make sure she was ok which I thought was shocking. Later that evening my colleague had the same issue and also got stuck in the cubicle. For this to happen twice in one day (could be more time I don't know about) is shocking and the fact the staff didn't apologise and know about the issue suprised me. I think this needs to be fixed ASAP to avoid future guests being in such distress, a potentially very dangerous situation.

It is a good hotel, and 5 min walk to Atocha rail station, which is convenient. I wasn't impressed by their breakfast buffet.
