I stayed 21 nights at the hotel. This is an older facility but the family that owns and manages it have made it comfortable and welcoming. I needed a more comfortable mattress and the owner/manager purchased and placed a new mattress at my request - that is genuine service and hospitality. The hotel provides a daily breakfast, gratis. The pool and grounds are well maintained. It is located on a beautiful beach with several inexpensive tavernas and restaurants in short walking distance. You can also purchase grocery from nearby markets and keep them in your room fridge. Four people run this hotel - they do a superb job. I would return here if I revisited Crete.

Lovely stay in the area of Ammoudara. Johannes is lovely and accommodating, answering all our questions about how to get to Heraklion and also how to get to Chania. The pool is lovely and the hotel having access to the beach is wonderful - I would stay again.

Nice pool and beach access, but the hotel and general area has deteriorated significantly. You can see it was once a nice place, but lack of investment is clear. Small dated rooms, small beds, limited options for breakfast and at the bar. The bar at the pool has clearly been closed for a few years and the gardens are dead, no grass at all now. 3 star property, and I’ll give it a generous 3 stars for my review.

The owner of the property and all the staff were amazing, very professional and helpful. The place was near the beach, very clean and suitable to people who need peace and quiet. Easy access to the city centre and airport, one only need to walk five minutes and get onto a bus. We like as well the supermarket and restaurants nearby.

It's a unique place. You've got to be the type of person that doesn't judge on face value to enjoy it. I really liked it. There's definitely some characters there. Badly needs a refurb but if it had one it would be busier and less enjoyable in other ways. Take it as you find it and don't judge too quickly

My stay at Hotel Tsagarakis was fantastic. The owner is exceptionally friendly, kind, and helpful. The rooms were spotless, with fresh sheets and towels provided daily. The property features a beautiful pool and direct beach access. It's perfectly located, peaceful, yet within walking distance or a short public transit ride to livelier, tourist-friendly areas. They offer a traditional Greek breakfast and a kitchen for preparing other meals. The staff truly go above and beyond. I’d gladly return, it was a wonderful and authentic Greek experience.

The hotel seemed to be run by just one person and although very polite and friendly he was very slow. Check in took over 1/2 an hour. If you wanted a drink from the bar and he was checking someone in yhen you could have to wait that long to be served.

The pool was immaculate and situated perfectly . The hotel was right on the beach which was clean and dandy and the sea was beautiful The hotelierspoke very good English and was extremely helpful . This hotel is peaceful , a short taxi ride to Heraklion and a supermarket on hand .we very much enjoyed our holiday here and would like to extend our thanks to our host .

The property is right on the beach. You will have to take the beach chair provided by the owner back and forth to it. The beach is swimable and the sand is great. There is a market 5 minutes away ( walk) to shop your essentials and there is a fridge in your room. The rooms are cleaned daily and the sheets and towels changed daily. Rooms are imaculate and Miranda cleans them very well. Ianis, the owner is very helpful and answers any questions you might have. There is no tv in the room but there is Ac and safe. Very friendly staff, and great relaxing rusting stay!You can also take the bus for 20 euros for 2 days and see Heraklion. One of the things that is a must se is the Venetian legion/ castle. The whole island is full of beautiful beaches so if you rent a car adventure yourself and go se it!

The one week spent at this hotel was relaxing, fun and exciting. Mr. Tsagarakis was warmly welcoming the very beginning. He gave all the info during the check in which made things easier. The hotel is a tradition rich family business and the Mr.Tsagarakis and his mothe made us feel like home at the hotel. The amazing pool, garden, sea view, the antique rich interiors with couches and the dining area is really peaceful and creative to relax. Free WiFi, AC, pool use, free sun beds and as a complementary we were also given diving masks. The sea view room was so great with sea and mountain views. Rooms where cleaned everyday, breakfast was fresh and delicious. We had a smooth check-in and check out. Somethings to improve would be: The room was not sound proof, so if the roads are too busy, you would hear it(our room was on road side). The breakfast was same all days, maybe a bit of change would be nice.

Great value for the money provided you enjoy a quiet beach and don’t mind driving 10 minutes to town centre. Good restaurants and a supermarket are about 5 minutes walking distance. Right on a beautiful sandy beach. Great for sunbathing, and swimming. Friendly and welcoming staff.

It is a very unique property decorated with museum pieces handmade in Crete. Inside and outside. Very special addition is a sand beach we enjoyed so much.
