Absolutely stunning scenery, friendly staff but the room smelled badly of fish and body odor. My bed had a broken spring that jabbed into my leg. Was very rustic in definite need of upgrade….. wouldn’t recommend unfortunately. It says something when before bringing in my luggage I checked for bed bugs

The premises are advertised as a hotel, there are no amenities, only kettle in room. Building and garden very old and rundown. Room and bathroom very substandard. This place should not even be operating. We were charged NZ$ 435 for the night and the room was barely worth $100.It was like a backpackers. We intend to report further to tourist authority.

Absolutely NOT worth the money they are charging. This room could be worth 150 NZD but never 430.-! Description of the room is NOT matching amenities provided. Lot of things are simply not existent or misleading (eg. one very tiny soap for 5 days). Cooking nearly impossible; no possibility to ventilate (smell will stay for hours in the whole apartment. No privacy; guests AND staff is walking directly over the "private terrace" and vaping in front of the only door. Heating very, very basic, no AC. We simply don't understand why this is still Expedia listing. One of the worst accommodations we have ever seen.

The motel is in poor condition and either needs to undergo an extensive renovation, or demolished and redeveloped. The grounds and landscaping surrounding the facilites are even neglected. The motel has a lovely veiw of the lake and mountains.

The hotel is run- down, unkept, and disorganized. It does not seem there is any pride in ownership. Clean the mold form the showers at least!

Now where to eat as the restaurant is permanently shut and so is the bar …according to locals it’s been shut for over 4 years. Massively over priced. No electricity when I got up to leave in the morning, so wasn’t able to make a hot drink, toast or anything.Not recommended at nearly 400 nzd a night.
