It's ok

It was ok, clean and the staff were helpful but it's very basic and not great value for money. We chose to eat in the attached restaurant rather than the hotel breakfast, where you get 20% discount.

Mediocre welcome at the reception. Lovely restaurant attached which was nicely decorated and the food food was good. Went out for breakfast locally so can't comment on that aspect of the stay. Rooms are very tired to be fair. Double bed was a zip together twin type which wasn't very comfortable. Strange smell of dampness in the bedroom which was not a great opener as we opened the door to the bedroom. Towels were poor quality and showing their age. Carpets are showing their age too and looked dirty throughout. It appears from a skip out the back that there may be a bit of a renovation ongoing in some of the hotel but not our room unfortunately.. Wouldn't rush back. For the money poor value I'd say. Saturday night was way above average and twice the price of the Friday but I'd say it was down to local demand and local events. Won't be back unless it's gutted. Overall just average!

Upon entering the room , there was a terrible smell . When we removed our shoes we found that the carpet was really wet all over . We raised our concerns and went out for the evening , upon our return found a sheet of plastic covered by a couple of towels covering part of the carpet . The rest was uncovered and still wet . Hotel should have found alternative accommodation

Great hotel and well worth a visit.

Good hotel in a residential area with free parking which is rare these days. Check-in was easy and completed by a lovely lady who was friendly, welcoming and very professional. The room was comfy for a one night stay with tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge to keep drinks cool. There were also 2 bottles of complimentary water which again were a nice touch and much appreciated. Complimentary breakfast was also included which had to be chosen upon check-in. As there is no restaurant onsite, I was given a bag with my bacon and sausage bap, a mini muffin and a bottle of orange juice. There were also tea and coffee making facilities in reception with takeaway cups. I thought this whole breakfast concept was excellent because I generally don't need much more than that and I could eat it in my room. Check-out was simple and again a nice touch was being able to take a coffee away with my for my drive to work. Overall a great stay and I shall be returning.
