Everything was perfect. The bathrooms were clean, odorless, and good sized with a strong shower. The AC worked really well without being noisy. Meal options were great, high quality dishes made to order - so take care to order at least one hour before you want to eat. The property was so spacious with lots of shady spots to sit by the water. All the staff were incredibly helpful, like they ordered tuktuks for my aunt and I, and the tuktuks came very promptly. We were picked up to go to the railway station at 5:30 AM sharp. From an American perspective the prices of room and meals were all a fantastic deal. I also appreciated the universal charger in the room, which worked for my US plugs. The hotel is nice in that it doesn't feel overly touristy or ostentatious. It's a bit low key but immaculately clean and well-managed. Was interesting to also see the manager's model train set for a nominal fee, check it out on a rainy day esp. if you have kids. I would add, lastly, that the restaurant went to great lengths to accommodate my family member's request for low salt versions of all meals.

This place is like a mini centre parcs for space. Equivalent size of 6x football pitches. Pool is large, clean and excellent. Good location.

Amazing place. Such professional staff, huge property with attractive pool and long lagoon front full of hammocks and tables to watch the fishermen at sunset. Very good food. Wide range of rooms in different style bungalows spread out through the property (very quiet). Very clean (inside the rooms, the lobby/dining area and even the sand/ground throughout the property. 15 minute walk through alleys of friendly neighborhood to long, deserted beach. Environmentally friendly management of the resort. I can't say enough positive things about the friendliness, helpfulness, and professionalism of the staff... feels like 4 star resort at 2 star rates

beautiful historic spot
This is a really nice hotel! It's listed on 'top ten things to do in Batti' as a place to have gin and tonic under the canopy sitting over the lagoon, and I can see why. The property was beautiful and well maintained, the pool was immaculate. I only ate the Sri Lankan food but it was delicious. My only complaint is the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and I left with a sore back, but if you're made of stern stuff it's completely the right place to stay in Batticaloa!

Very pleasant extensive grounds with good swimming pool albeit a bit of a hike from our room (300m). Beautiful views of the lagoon and the hotel has lots of information about the area. The food pricing is tedious. Instead of including the price of a curry with 3 or 4 side vegetable curries each dish is separately priced which bumps the cost up. We had the good inclusive breakfast but if you don't, each item down to per slice of toast is separately priced! However, the room was excellent value for money and we wished we'd stayed here longer.

Charming resort on a budget
Great pool and location. Big room with a great shower though we encountered a frog because of a loosely fitted pipe. The spacious grounds are well kept and you can enjoy some time in a hammock overlooking the lagoon. Minor gripes are loud music at the otherwise good restaurant and the much too expensive laundry service.

The stay was great as we arrived in Batticoala around midnight, perfect for a sleep over. What we liked in the hotel most is the service, the moment we sat for breakfast. Helped us to book our taxi to go to our next resort destination and the good thing is the hotel practiced eco friendly system.

The staff and management went over and above to make us feel at home. The breakfast was great but the highlight was the location. The bonus was the boat ride on the lagoon! I wish we were there longer to enjoy the facilities

Superb oasis
It isn't glitzy or even very up-to-date, but this superbly located place (10 acres of lagoon frontage) has been pleasing guests for quite a while, and it shows. The staff are competent, confident and friendly. The food is excellent.
