Cute little cottages, all painted in a bright color. Grounds are kept clean and manicured. There is a small Tiki bar that was fun, drinks very inexpensive. No pool. Only c/o is that cabins that are adjoined have no insulation, so you can hear your neighbor. Luckily, ours went to bed by 11pm, but I could foresee an issue if you got a bad neighbor. No breakfast, but free coffee at the Tiki bar.

The tropical cottages was a spectacular place to stay. Online check in did not work well and the lady i dealt with when i arrived spoke zero English, although she did get me checked in and showed me to my cottage. The scenery outside the cottage was beautiful, and the cottage itself was inviting and comfortable. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay in Cottage 4. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet in the neighborhood of the cottages and the Taco truck had good food. Very nice stay! Thank you!

Not what we expected

Thought we would have an individual cottage but it was actually a duplex with some unexpected noise from the other unit on the other side of the inside door. Also surprised that we had to go outside to use toilet/shower--yes, they were sufficiently private, but it was during some of Florida's coldest winter weather and an indoor bathroom would have been preferable.

From the moment we opened the door, we felt welcomed. The room was spacious and had touches of hospitality from the bedding to the bureau with a coffee area. The roosters woke us early! We saw a manatee from the the dock outside.

Such a gem! The Mexican food truck on the property is a 10/10 and the bar is great! Very unique property! If you’re looking for authentic Keys experience this is it! Not an elegant 5 Star Hotel and that’s why we loved it! Clean, comfy and cozy!

Stayed at Tropical Cottages during a bicycle trip with my husband - it was clean, comfortable, and we had all we needed. We accessed the cottage via an app - a link was emailed to us before we arrived. This property has a taco truck and a bar, and when we showed up it was nice to arrive in this upbeat atmosphere! Property is just off of the highway, tucked back on a quiet side street. Hot shower, comfortable bed. I wanted to borrow a hair dryer and though there wasn't one in the room, I called the phone number and a woman arrived at my door with one in seconds. We would definitely stay here again.

Great overnight stay. Very gracious host. Copious amounts of coffee in am. Sorry to miss evening bar and food. Looked awesome. Could have used one more pillow and extra blanket, but really mellow chill place. Highly recommend!

Staff was friendly and helpful. The taco stand had really good food for a good price. And within walking distance was Herbies (very very good food and good local beer on tap). Sombrero beach is just a Mile away which is a must for swimming and sunbathing.

Above and beyond!!

This is the second stay at this property, the first time was a very nice last minute 1 night stay. This time we planned on staying there again along our route driving out the Keys. My wife booked an off-site location by accident and we didn't realize it until I checked in. We went to the off-site property and went up to the room, Although it was very nice as well, my wife was a little disappointed because we were looking forward to the same experience as last time. After about 30 minutes, I called the front desk and told them what had happened. He looked through his reservations and found a cottage like the first one we had stayed in and loved us, although it was our fault! He had no obligation to do this, but went above and beyond to make us happy. Additionally, with the off-site property having an outdoor flight of stairs, the new cottage made it much easier to navigate, especially since I have a bad back (several surgeries & a pain pump implant) and my wife has bad knees (in need of a knee transplant). For all of these reasons and more, we will be staying again, should our travels take us back there!!! One of our favorite places to stay!!
