they called it resort bc they have a pool? its not a resort at all, bedrooms tiny and bathrooms old in bad conditions hotel is in the middle of a highway kind of a days inn but they charge like a resort, no amenities no chance of buying anything bc is almost t empty , no one speaks english or spanish but italian, is far from everywhere in the middle of nowhere , lunch is served on the pool in front of construction full of flies around you and the menu sucks and waiters are mean just terrible

20 mins drive north of Brindisi airport, this is a huge all inclusive resort - its about a mile from the sea but has a Tourist Train that runs to and from the beach all day. We visited at the end of the season (they were getting ready to close for winter) and I cant imagine how crazy this resort would be in August - the canteen (it really cant be described as a restaurant) is immense - 3 massive rooms, which would be insane if full. Also there are huge swimming pools with hundreds of sun loungers and umbrellas around them. Again, it was OK off season as it was quiet, but would be crazy if full during the school holidays.

The Hotel Orientale in Brindisi is a very good place to stay, The rooms are clean, the property is well maintained. The hotel is very well located - just a couple of blocks from the scenic seafront promenade that is perfect for dinning, having coffee or a gelato and watching the sunset. The hotel has a nice breakfast buffet. The hotel staff was also very attentive. Furthermore, the hotel has parking - which was a must for us as we had a car. There is Taxi stand right in front of the hotel that you can use only to unload your luggage and check in. At that time, you will give your car key to the assistant who will park the car for you. There are many stores around the hotel and places to have coffee, gelato, and snacks. Additionally, there are plenty of things to see and do in Brindisi which can take you a full day. The main sites worth visiting include: the Duomo (Cathedral of Brindisi); the Church (Chiesa) of San Giovanni; The Chiesa of San Benedetto; the Ribezzo Archeological Museum; the Palazoo Granasfei Nervagna; and the Monument to Italian Sailors (which you must take the ferry over to the other side of Brindisi less than 2 Euros per ride). All sites in Brindisi are walking distance from the hotel - but you must like to walk if you want to see the Swavian Castle from the outside- which is closed to the public as it is now a Navy base. Furthermore, if you want to visit the Castello Alfonsino - it might not be possible as it requires calling and making a reservation.
