The room was small, but the nice sized bathroom made up for that. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was a bit sparse, but ok. Was a great deal for the price.

Very small room but cool decor. Mattress was soft - not comfortable. But linen was nice. Tried to call night desk clerk twice. No answer. Went downstairs and she was there and assisted as needed.

Hidden gem
This is my second trip to this quaint old hotel. I love it and hope to stay again soon. Although it is old it doesn't have that old smell that some hotels can have. It's such a beautiful property and the free breakfast offers a lot of different choices.

After overcoming some minor things like no heat the first night, not having ice machines on each floor so we have to ask the front desk clerks for ice, etc it turned out to be a unique and pleasant visit. The front desk staff are top notch. They were friendly and very helpful and offered many suggestions of things to do in the area.

Staying in an historic hotel was lots of fun. The details were well preserved, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom had a lovely porcelain sink and higher end amenities, especially the body wash. They offered a decent breakfast spread. Lastly, it's worth checking out the extra rooms on the upper floor of the lobby, i.e. the Card Room. Everything was beautiful. I hated to leave.
