We've stayed here several times and have been extremely happy. Not as good this time. The fitted sheets were not covering the bed when we turned in for the night & we could not get them to stay on! The heater was very loud. We had no hot water in the evening but it was working by morning. Staff was amazing as usual and did try to fix the hot water issue that night. We didn't bother telling them about the sheets - just used our sleeping bag we'd brought for part of our trip. The room was very clean which is always a big plus for us, as is the great customer service!

Good for a one night stay.

Great staff here. Motel is older, but clean. Our room was clean, but outdated. Could use a paint job and new carpet and drapes. Breakfast was good, not a big variety, but enough. Price was perfect for what we got.

Econo Lodge Lakeview is a property where having a car is essential to get around. The location is quiet, and the rooms are spacious. However, cleanliness is only average due to the old carpets, and the breakfast options are quite limited. On the positive side, the staff is friendly and welcoming, which makes the stay more pleasant.

The hotel is nice and clean. We rented a queen size bed because they were out of King size ones, but that bed seemed more like a full. The “continental breakfast” was not even close to that. It had some oatmeal for you to make, and some premade small size omelettes with a slice of cheese. Not a good variety. The view is beautiful, as you can see Lake Superior.

Nice place with a FANTASTIC PRICE!! Pet friendly!!

Easy access, pet friendly for a small $25 fee. Nice, spacious room. The view was of a wooded area behind the hotel and I wasn't disappointed. It was quite beautiful. We arrived late, around 8:15pm. The gentleman at the desk was kind and quick with our check-in. The room was clean and decent. I suggest bringing your own pillows however, as theirs are small but fluffy. Bedding was adequate. Sheets, blanket, sheet - comfortable. Beds a bit hard but not uncomfortable. I have back issues and it was fine for me. It fit two of us just fine in the queen size. Shower worked great. I LOVE the two separate sinks!! Finally, someone gets it! Two people can actually brush their teeth at the same time! We'll grab breakfast here soon. Nothing special but it's provided and they have some quick grab options I'm told, like bagels and toast. Coffee in room is good. We have dogs and they put us at the end of the hall which is conveniently located just to the left at the top of the stairs. It's not a long walk from the car. Our dogs are excitable so I was grateful for the end room. We didn't even have to ask. The pet fee was a base price too, not per pet pricing. Highly recommend this place!!

Was very noisy. The door located below us was slamming shut every time someone used it. No smoking by doors yet several times people were sitting on the stairs smoking again right below our balcony. Was told when checking out that they did not accept discounts during the summer that the owners disables the discounts during summer season. Would have been nice to save that extra couple hundred $.
Across from Lake Superior. Busy roadway at times hard to cross if walking to the trail.

Confy and scenic

Very friendly staff, beautiful location right in Lake Superior, altho the highway is noisy. Room was comfortable and well appointed; fridge clean.

needs more TLC

Disappointing stay. I had made an error in reservation dates and to get our trip back on track we decided to book a room for two nights and explore the bike trails in the area. The desk clerk was helpful and made arrangements so that we could have the same room both nights. When we opened the door to our room there was a terrible, musty smell. We turned on the air conditioner to see if that would help. we had a room with 2 queen beds. As I looked them over, discovered one of the beds was wet and we didn't want to be inhaling whatever was making to room smell bad. The air conditioner filter looked like it needed cleaning and the tracks for the windows were very dirty. We asked for another room. The clerk switched a few things around and he showed us to a different room that was down the hall. The smell in this room reminded me of potting soil. It smelled a little better than the first so we moved our luggage. As my husband hung his jacket he noticed a food container that had been left behind by the previous guest. I don't think either of us slept much. We decided against another night. I hope that things can change for this place. The bike trail that runs along the waterfront is lovely and it's right across the road. We did let the clerk know why we were not staying another night, and they did adjust the bill for our stay which was appreciated.

The front desk employees were very nice and friendly. Our room was ok. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The room condition was worn. The carpet was worn down to threads on the door threshold. The night stand was dated and dinged. There was a water stain on the ceiling. But the breakfast was the biggest let down. They only had cheese omlets, 3 selections of cold cereal (1 of our 2 day stay there was only 2 as the frosted flakes were "out of stock"), cold mini apple cinnamon muffins, bread/toast and 2 flavors of instant oatmeal. I was atleast hoping for some bagels or something. Not everyone likes eggs. We won't stay again as the breakfast is a big seller for us. We stayed here while we moved our daughter into NMU.

Old. Rundown. Terrible breakfast offering. The staff I met at check-in and check-out were friendly and courteous and about the only redeeming quality of this hotel. $200/night for that? Very, very disappointing.
