Older hotel, bad WiFi signal
Much older Marrakech hotel. Friendly service, decent location.
WiFi signal is almost non-existent and kept logging off your system. The unsecure WiFi network is shared with entire hotel for guests and non-guests, with password posted at concierge. Hotel must do more so modern travelers can enjoy their stay.
The hotel was awesome..in the middle of Gueliz..close to many many restaurants and coffee shops ..the staff was extremely friendly from the front desk , restaurants ..Yassine ( If I remember his name)the pool guy was great and very nice ..I will definitely go back to Almas ..Love it !! Love it ! Love it!!
They gave us free upgrade. So we got a suite with balcony view. It was lovely, felt well rested and the rooftop pool was AMAZING!!! Worth the price. Just wish I could try their buffet/restaurant but no time.
I reserved and paid for suite, was given a single bed first night of two night stay, the room was not clean and in bad shape and dusty which means was not been in use of the cleaning process very poor. Hotel Management refused to compensate for the difference in price between single bed and a suite rooms. Tried to explain my disappointment to management, it seems they didn’t care. The property as a whole in needs of improvement. The hotel is extremely over rated. I have written to Expedia and I hope will get some results.
The manager began by giving me an upgrade to a suite - very nice. I ate at two seafood restaurants that were within a half a block of the hotel. The food and service at bth was fantastic and the prices very reasonable.
While walking I noticed numerous venues to get a cu of tea, coffee, a snack, read the paper, a magazine.
It was interesting that a guard was posted outside the building. I took a walk around the neighbor and didn’t detect what might be considered a “reason for caution”.
It took less than 15 minutes to walk to the Almas from the main train station. Our room was quiet, comfortable and clean. There was a useful safety box and a good refrigerator in our room. The price was reasonable. The swimming pool and the long chairs on the roof were much appreciated in the hot afternoon, especially before we headed towards the mayhem of the Djemaa el-Fna for the evening — a 40-minute walk away.
As for food, very good and reasonably priced restaurants can be found just outside the front door of the hotel, especially on some of the little side streets close by. And don’t miss the freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly squeezed pomegranate juice sold on the street corner next to the hotel.
The day shift staff amazing, the night staff very rude arrogant and discriminating, always put people from morroco before us. Didn’t allow us to print documents. No customer service except laughing at us. Curtain covered in blood and stains
Excellent location. Walking distance to the famous Djemma el Fna, Koutobia Mosque, the upmarket Carre Eden and to bus and rail connections. Clean, neat and well maintained. Very good value for money. Traditional local food and fish dishes nearby. A great find.
Didn’t like the area to much going on the hotel was ok

The Hotel itself is good. The buffet for evening dinner was terrible hardly anything to eat.The breakfast was ok.On my first night I was trying to set the air con to cold but for some reason I couldn’t set it to cold. First thing in the morning I told the reception about the air con and in return I get a answer oh I’m sorry the air con set to hot we can’t change until summer.February month during daytime the temperature was average 25 to 28 and other than that the staff are friendly.
I will still use the hotel if I’m in Marrakech but only for accommodation.
