Nice location but poor confort

We booked a queen size bed and we had a double size bed. Also, it was hot at night even if the room was supposed to be climatised. Nice location and soundproof room tough.

Good option if you don’t care about luxury

This hotel is extremely basic. If you are looking for luxury or comfort, this is not a hotel for you. This is a very old hotel in front of the port. The stairs are not in good condition. Believe it or not they were inclined to the left. You will have a hard time, climbing those stairs if you are drunk. The elevator is so small that only one person fits. We had a two person room, which was extremely small, with no view to the port. The hotel didn’t even have, shampoo, conditioner, or body lotion. No iron, closet. Good hair dryer though. Then they put us on a three person room. This was bigger and had a view port. This room was nicer for sure. Unfortunately, it was only available for one night. However, this hotel has very good breakfast, and the staff are super friendly and helpful, and as I said above, it has a great location. So once again, I only recommend this hotel if you don’t care about luxury.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the life hotel in Marseille. Excellent staff, location & good breakfast and the area is full of very good cafes and restaurants. Highly recommend.

This was my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The location can’t be beat as it is right in the center of the Vieux Port and right on the metro line as well. The rooms and the hotel itself are clean and pleasant. Staff is extremely helpful as well. We paid extra for the breakfast option and I highly recommend it as it was delicious and worth it. A lot of the reviews I read before booking had complaints about all the stairs, and while there were a lot of stairs I don’t think it was anything too bad and it wasn’t something that bothered us at all. I spent a week in Marseille and had a great time and Hotel Life played a big part in that. When I go back this will definitely be where I stay!

Great location good value for money

The hotel is located on a very busy Esplanade around the Marina District. The hotel has been renovated as part of an older building. That includes new sound resistant windows that keep the noise out and with the air conditioning it was perfectly fine. Keeping the windows open at night would be impossible. That said the people running the hotel are very friendly, very helpful, the breakfast was good And it was very century located. I would recommend recommended.

lots of stairs to reach to reception and no lift there. it was very difficult with heavy luggage. the hotel has no parking and stopping place. so you should go to nearest parking and carry your luggage with yourself.

This property is nice and the staff is very helpful. The only caveat is the fact there is only stairs to the first floor. Those who have heavy bags or mobility issues may not find this a good match. This is really just a design issue. Service and accommodation is great.

Great stay with very helpful staff. Our only issue was that we kept getting a very strong smell of cigarette smoke coming into our room which seemed to manifest itself near the large vent/air con by the bathroom. Being non-smokers with a toddler it was pleasant at times.

The hotel is well located, clean and minimalist. The only critique is that luggage has to be brought up a steep two floors staircase to the reception area. Then there’s a small elevator to go up the other floors.

Guests should be warned that there are lots of stairs to climb. The staff was very helpful. The location is probably the absolute best place in the city. We enjoyed a wonderful view of the port, and were surrounded by restaurants. The only downside was the stairs.
