Very Good

Initially we were given a room on 5th floor with a generator outside but when we asked to move to a quiet room we were given one on 11th floor which was very quiet and comfortable.Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very nice and beautifully presented but fairly expensive. Only hotel in our trip that didn't have breakfast included in the price.
Very clean hotel with a good breakfast and friendly check-in. I'd happily stay there again.

Good Location, close to transport stations.
Hotel lobby and receptions looks grand. However, the rooms are a tad too old, and they could certainly use a major face-lift.

Convenient
I selected this hotel because it is the highest rated hotel near the Matsumoto train station. It is convenient to the station and in walking distance to the Matsumoto Castle, shopping and eating areas. Like most Japanese hotels, it is very tiny but at least they have laundry facilities and it is clean.
'Ok' hotel for 1 day trip in Matsumoto. Average at best but certainly not more than 3 star. Staff ok, but room had window that looked as if it was about to fall.

2 minutes walk from station
Near Matsumoto station, would be great if go to Norikura or Kamikochi in the next morning
A great base to explore Kamikochi and Takayama are
We stayed here only one night as we had planned to take the bus to Hirayu to explore nearby mountains. For that purpose the location is perfect as this hotel is next to the Matsumoto bus terminal, the room is reasonably spacious from Japanese standard and also clean, the breakfast serves some local delicacies as well as fresh green salad and fruits. We are happy to come back here.
Very good location, near to the bus terminal (just across the street) and the train station. Restaurants nearby. The room was small but very clean and tidy.
We loved our stay at Tokyu Inn. It was easy to find, convenient to the train station and within walking distant to Matsumoto Castle. Many great shops located within blocks of hotel. Great city to visit.
We've got a room that faces the mountain and it's spectacular! The facilities in the too was beyond expectation of an economy double room. A good relaxed stay for 2 nights.
Hotel very close to train station and walkable to all Matsumoto has to offer. Rooms were very clean and offer all amenities you might need. A little on the small side but very comfortable. Also next door to bus station for transportation needs.

Convient hotel next to the Matsumoto bus station
We stayed here for one night, the hotel is a quick one block from the JR Matsumoto station. Its facility is as spartan as Japanese business hotel as ever but they get the job done. One of its major attraction is that it is right next to the bus station.
Good hotel, with helpfull staf. for Japanese standard the room was spacious.
Not related to the hotel but the town is very pleasant and worth a visit, especially the park around the castle.
Breakfast was good
I chose this hotel based on its close proximity to the Matsumoto train station. My wife and I had just completed the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route during the first half of the day, and Matsumoto was a pit stop for the night before continuing our journey to Tokyo the next day. Hotel was conveniently located within 3 minutes' walk from the station. There is plenty to do within walking distance of the hotel: Matsumoto castle (must see!), Timepiece Museum, Nawate street (a old-style historical street) next to the Metoba River. Room is reasonably sized, clean and well maintained. The only downside is that there is no heater in the room. There was a notice next to the aircon saying that outside air is channeled into the room during Spring and Autumn. As it was 5 degrees C outside that night, the room was chilly. So this hotel is very much a love-hate for us: we liked its location but thought it failed to provide that basic level of comfort. Perhaps hotel management can rethink this air conditioning policy such that it is based on outside temperature instead of the months of the calendar year.
The hotel is across the street from the train station and a perfect location for touring this easily walkable town. Everything was very clean, the room was smallish - like most Japanese rooms - but perfectly lliveable. The staff was very helpful (though limited English) for giving restaurant recommendations, including coupons for free drinks. We had a great time and I'd easily recommend this place to anyone.
We stayed here at the last minute on a very busy weekend with almost no hotels available and it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel was right next to the station and an easy walk to Matsumoto castle. There was some original Yayoi Kusama artwork in the lobby which was a real treat - not something you expect in a budget hotel! Room was clean and comfortable. I'd happily stay here again.
