The beds are rock hard, pillows are clumpy. Food is terrible, pools are dirty. Low quality alcohol, the internet is poor quality, the dinner reservations are hard to get and the food is low quality and not worth the hassle to book.

The stay was disappointing for a few reasons. The first room we were assigned had two beds pushed together and it was called a “king” bed. We asked to move and the hotel accommodated with no issues. The coffee tasted like instant coffee, and the food was disappointing. The Buffett, while plentiful was the same every day, with few minor changes. They advertised 3 a la carte restaurants which were not true a la carte. Most food was over cooked. The gym was supposed to open at 7am and several days we waited for 15-20 min for an employee to arrive. There was no towels, the equipment was old and broken down. There was no water dispenser, and the room was filthy. The pool decks and pools were not cleaned daily and there was sand everywhere.

Friendly staff and lots to do. Riuland was our daughter’s favorite with the activities. Pool bar with Rock band was fun! Massive family rooms slept 6 comfortably. Bring shampoo and conditioner !

We felt safe in the area, and enjoyed walking on the beach. The staff were friendly and the food was good. We were on the ninth floor and despite a long-standing knee problem, we ended up taking the stairs up and down due to the elevators being inoperable or having ridiculously long wait times. I don’t think there was a day we were there where there wasn’t some maintenance person working on at least one of the elevators. We paid extra for an ocean view in a room that was outdated and worn. I’m talking chips out of the tub, cracked tiles and an outlet hanging out of the wall - when we could have had a renovated room that was steps from the ocean for less. I was at this resort years ago, but this is not the calibre I remember it being. I’m not sure if the new rooms had better towels, but ours were various shades of brown and mostly frayed or worn. We would never stay here again.

It is one of the best stays I have had in Mazatlan and it easily outshines my stay at the RIU in Puerto Vallarta. The good, staff, room where 5 star plus. My only thought was that it needs a real hot tub for adults only.

The only critique I would offer is the first night I had to stay in a room to have view of air-conditioning units. They moved me the next day to a room with a nice garden view.
