The room was perfect! There was a very slight musty smell in the bathroom and when we turned on the air conditioner before bed, as we always do, it smelled like it had not been used for a long time. I imagine most guests wouldn’t even have noticed it.The restaurant was amazing! Loved the live music. And the food delicious. The breakfast, while listed a continental, was really more of a buffet. The food was great. Loved the woodsy feel both inside and out. We will definitely be back!
Callahan's has been on my list of places to stay, but I was concerned that it wasn't close enough to the theatre district, which is the main reason for going to Ashland. While it's a short drive, it's also a pleasant drive. The rooms have all the amenities that you would expect in any hotel. I was particularly impressed with the staff, who were all pleasant and helpful. The rooms might be just a tad dated, but that really adds to the charm of the lodge. (I don't think I've stayed in a mountain lodge that wasn't just a tad dated.) The continental breakfasts are outstanding and bountiful. The grounds are well maintained and the flowers everywhere are lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

Our room was #12 which is directly below the dining room. So we were awakened every morning at 6:30 am by the terrible noise from above. On our last night we were awakened at 2:30 am by the same noise. We called the front desk and complained and it got better but we could still here someone moving around above us. Additionally, the jacuzzi in our room had to be operated by getting under the bathroom sink and resetting the GFI switch. Then to turn it off we had to reverse the procedure. Also, our TV controller didn't work properly. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the entertainment very much. We would come back but definitely would ask for a different room.
The rooms were clean and tidy although upon entering the hotel to get in the elevator, I noticed that the carpets were severely stained before getting into the rooms. This places common areas really need to be shampooed. Yikes. My only other comment of concern would be that when I called to see if I could check in early and bring my bags by, the service over the phone was sub par. The hostess seemed aloof and not willing to commit to awesome customer service.
This trip, it was just me and my dog. Would I stay here again!? Yes. If there were no comparable options else where.
Oops. Also the buttons on the much needed and much enjoyed hot tubs were broken off. The tub still worked fine tho.
The views were amazing and gorgeous. The landscaping and overall feel of the lodge was good. Especially outdoors and in the dining space.
Hope this review helps.

Beds were very comfortable but the pillows weren't great. Our first time staying there was back in July of 2024 and the food was amazing, this time it was sub par and even more expensive. Staff interactions were hit and miss.
This is a well kept, well run establishment. The staff was professional, the restaurant was great and the room was roomy. Everything superb, and an excellent value
This Lodge comes to life because of the hard working people that work there and take care of it. They are very friendly and help you any way they can. We loved the wood burning fireplace, jacuzzi tub, patios and the beauty of the setting. The rooms are spacious and inviting. There is lots of parking and Mt. Ashland is beautiful!
