We booked a room at the last minute on a drive up from CA and loved the Stratford Inn. The staff is so friendly, there is an indoor saltwater pool, an amazing breakfast bar, and the inn's commitment to environmental practices is so good to see. We plan to return to Ashland and stay here again.

I would have given this place an excellent if it weren’t for the pillows. Because the pillows were so flat and deflated it was really hard to sleep. Both my husband and I woke with terrible cricks in our necks. Otherwise the location, staff, amenities, and the fact that they were pet friendly was perfect. But I do need my sleep, so unless the pillow factor changes I don’t see us booking again.

We love this property! The staff is so friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and up to date. The building has a very cool design with the breakfast room overlooking the pool. The breakfast was way better then most other hotels in my opinion. We love the fruit and nut bar to add to your oats or yogert. The attention to detail and care for the environment is evident.

Staff is very friendly. It was one of the front desk agent’s first time checking someone in, and they did great! Elevators were nice since we had a bit of heavy luggage. The hotel is very close to downtown which is very convenient. Unfortunately, if your room is on the second floor on the treeside, your window will be right next to the road, which can get very loud. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would come again.

The staff was nice. The woman server in the breakfast room was wonderful! The heating unit in the room was very noisy. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were small for the amount of people there. The breakfast and the price were excellent. We are so happy we could have our dog here.

The breakfast options are limited but the lady that runs that area is awesome and super friendly. The hot tub was tiny (can barely fit 4 adults) which was disappointing since we wanted to use it after a day of skiing but there was already another couple in there and our family of four adults couldn’t fit.

Fast and easy check-in. I’d called previously and spoke with Gaia, who helped me figure out the road conditions prior to arrival. When we did arrive, Gaia was courteous and professional. In fact, every staff we encountered - from Lilian at the front desk, to Severin (housekeeper - who kindly took my dirty dishes away), to the fellow who set up breakfast (sorry didn’t catch his name) - was friendly. Lilian said they strive to for “friendliness and cleanliness” - and they succeeded! You can tell that it’s an older property but they keep it very clean and spruce it up, so it’s a comfortable stay in a clean environment. The indoor whirlpool (chlorine/saltwater) and warm saltwater pool were a lovely and relaxing place to go; huge points for the hours - 6am - 1am!). Also, it’s a dog friendly hotel, but you could not tell that any animals were there. The rooms and sheets did not smell like dog and couldn’t see any indications that dogs had been there, triple plus! I highly recommend the Stratford Inn if you and your pets (or kids) would like a budget-friendly, clean and comfortable stay and don’t need all the frilly amenities of pricey hotels. A 👏👍
