Superb location and great service.

We enjoyed being in the heart of the town for a few days. The hotel was convenient for the harbour and eateries as well as the old town up the hill. The room had a balcony overlooking the harbour which we enjoyed for afternoon relaxation. It feels busy at times with the hubbub of the harbour and passing people but it wasn’t noisy. But for a lovely spot to watch or listen to the world go by, it was perfect. The Alte Post next door was wonderful for food and the ice cream parlour below was great for a pick me up. Staff at the hotel were excellent and so helpful. Beds were comfy. All in all a great stay. Minor gripe was lack of coffee facilities in the room. However, the breakfast buffet was immense! That set you up for the day in a gorgeous sister hotel along the road.

The easy proximity to the ferry, and the balcony to enjoy the view of the lake and promenade were such welcomed bonuses. Even when it rained we could sit and enjoy the view with the fresh air coming in, with plenty of space. We stayed in the family room, with lake view. Breakfast could not have been better. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to coming back!

Very convenient and modern room. Definitely pay for the parking, as most things can be seen by foot and parking is a premium. Getting to the room, arriving and finding reception was not easy, hence the 4.50 star review. Beautiful views from the room, too.

Meersburg and the hotel were something of a revelation to us. Only there for an overnight stay but will certainly be back. Our room was pleasant, clean, seemingly recently refurbished, and very well appointed / designed / set out, with guests’ convenience in mind. The hotel is directly on the lakeside, and our room looked out on to the ferry quay. Peaceful and beautiful. Parking is limited but we were offered a space just a couple of minutes walk away from the hotel - €15, which we thought was a bit steep. One other inconvenience was that breakfast is served in a sister hotel about 200 metres away, though a little electric shuttle is provided, if needed. This was more than compensated for, however, by the magnificent breakfast spread! A huge range of quality food and one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had.

Nice but things to be aware of.

Breakfast is not on site but at another hotel 5 min walk away. It is good though. No restaurant on site. Parking costs extra. Parking is not nearby and is a 10 minute walk away. Lake View room looks out along the lake shore to the south east, there is no view northwards at all. Rooms are small, bathroom even more so Reception shuts at 20:00 and with it the main door. After that you have to use a side door and take the stairs to the first floor before you can access the lift. Might be an issue for the less well abled when coming in after eating out in the evening. A nice place overall, but none of these things were mentioned when booking or on the website, you only get to discover this after booking or upon arrival.

Lovely! Enjoyed Meersburg!

Meersburg was a very happy surprise. What was meant as an overnight stop on the way to Triberg, turned out to be one of the highlights of our 2 week Germany trip. Although most of the shops were closed in winter. , it was still nonetheless a very quaint old town and the hotel location cannot be beat. Lovely walk through the vineyards too! Breakfast was off site but not too far a walk . The options were plentiful and fabulous! Loved that they offered a hot breakfast option that the other hotels in our 2 week trip did not. This was our first stop after Fussen. Wish we had booked to stay here longer rather than the disappointing tourist trap of Fussen.

Gorgeous old building in the heart of downtown Meersburg. Friendly staff, beautiful clean And quiet room. Comfortable and so affordable with a wonderful huge hot and cold breakfast with so much variety. We had an amazing time and will certainly recommend this place with hopes to return ourselves. Parking is the only downfall... though it is free, it’s a walk. All in all... five stars.

Deceptive description of accommodations?

First of all, this property isn't within the castle grounds...rather across the street. Secondly, self parking means to fend for a parking space on the street. Thirdly, our room was OK, but bathroom was tiny. Breakfast is an extra charge ($12 Euros)...nice spread, but pricey. Would probably stay elsewhere the next time we're in this area.
