Hi, the people at reception were nice and friendly, but this property was average from the room I chose was different to the one I was allocated. I chose this room because it has a kitchenette. It was not very well equipped. I had to visit reception to ask for a fry pan, spatula, tongs etc. It came the next day after a further visit/request at Reception. I ordered room service a pepperoni pizza and fries with aioli. It came from the cafe on the ground floor which was connected to the Oaks hotel. It was delivered to my room the pizza was cold no cheese and the base was Dowey and not cooked, it looked like it was just heated in a microwave. There was no aioli on the chips. I had 2 pieces and a few chips and left it. The next day I went to reception to advise I was not happy with the room service and the pizza which I left in the room for them to see. She was very apologetic and said this would be reported to her manager, I was give little box of chocolates for the inconvenience.
The Oaks is in a perfect location. Short tram ride to the CBD walking distance to Albelt Parl Lake a few Cafes/restaurants nearby. This hotel has a cafe. Our room was newly renovated and very comfortable. The only criticism I have is that it has cooking facilities without any pots ect to cook with. Otherwise I would recommend this hotel
Big bare foot footprints on the bathroom floor gave me the ick immediately on arrival. We got twin rooms and the adjoining door was so heavy and was unable to be kept open so it blocked the entry and bathroom to one room. Fridge in on of the apartments was nosy. Not completely sound proof and no cookware to cook your own food.
Other than that it was okay and only a 9 minute walk from the hospital which was why we booked.
Wonderful place to stay. Close to transport and plenty ofocal eateries. Coffee shop in almost every building. Have to ask for cooking utensils. If price is right great place to stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The hotel suited our needs for a busy weekend. Can recommend the Oaks
The first room we had the TV was cracked and didn’t work. We were placed into another room 24 hours later which was good service. The general condition of the rooms were run down. Cracks in the exposed concrete ceilings. Hardly any cooking utensils / cutlery. Telephones didn’t work.
The bar and restaurant was very good. Food good. Prices good.
Staff very friendly and accomodating.
This hotel is in a great location and easy to get to. The staff in the hotel and restaurant were very friendly. While parking is available it is an extra $45!
It was ok. Clean, easy checkin, comfortable bed etc. There was crockery missing(only one tea/coffee cup) no tongs for cooking, no dish cloth for washing dishes and the racks in the dishwasher were missing. Area around was noisy due to new building being built, even a lot of noise all day Sunday.
The hotel was in good proximity to the Palais Theatre and had great access to public transport. View outside our room was average and balcony was tiny. The reception and corridors smelt heavily of room fresheners which was overpowering. Room was clean and cosy.
