The location and the staff at the reception is great, but the room is quite filthy and very dusty (doesn’t feel like they used the vacuum at all!), refrigerator was broken and dirty inside, booked a “Yarra view room” but barely can see the river itself due to the trees - scam? Our room although in the smaller room was full of ambience with its very high ceiling. We overlooked Flinders Steet. The room was clean, crisp sheets with a nice little coffee machine.

Hotel location was great, next to tram station to the Australian Open. Room was large with two sink vanities and an extra living room. Nightly cocktails was nice. But housekeeping was poor: shower gel dispenser in shower was empty, no tissues and toilet was leaking and, despite reporting it twice, was not fixed. Breakfast buffet was weak also.

It was a terrible experience. After paying a high price for a suite, I was hugely disappointed with both the quality of the hotel and my suite and even more so with the service and attitude of the staff. I will never stay there again nor recommend it to anyone. I intend to write to the Hotel Manager, the Hotel Owners and to Expedia. It is my worst experience in decades of extensive travel and hotel bookings of various categories.

I love art deco, and this hotel provided not only the architecture but also the mood of an 1930s hotel. The room was nice and the amenities were all fine. And the location was also excellent. The Tram stop was literally outside an the main streets less than 100m away. Perfect.
